Brother Steve Lett read an announcement from the Teaching Committee this
morning.

On Saturday, June 23 the country of Peru was struck by an earthquake.
Sadly,
two of our sisters have died and one has been hospitalized with serious
injuries. Three homes belonging to our brothers were completely
destroyed,
and a number of others were damaged. No Kingdom Halls were destroyed,
although a neighbor's property fell on the roof of one Kingdom Hall
causing
minor damage.
Let us keep our brothers in Peru in our prayers with full confidence =
that
Jehovah will care for his people there.

Brother Don Adams gave a report last Wednesday on his recent zone visit
to
Russia and Europe. One sister in Finland set a wonderful example of
standing
firm in the face of persecution. This sister's opposition came from her
unbelieving husband. On one occasion when she had a talk on the
Theocratic
Ministry School, he threatened her with a knife. She expressed her
determination to go give her talk that night, and as she turned to leave
the
house, her husband threw the knife at her. It sank two inches into her
back.
Did that stop her from going to the meeting and giving the talk? No. It
wasn't until after her talk that another sister noticed blood on the
sister's dress, which had been covered by a shawl when she was on stage.
The
sister returned home to her husband that night. Seeing her unwavering,
determined stand, he stopped opposing her.

Brother David Splane mentioned an interesting point in morning worship
last
Tuesday. In the past, when reference has been made to responsible
brothers
in the early days, such as Brothers Russell, Rutherford, and Knorr, they
have often been identified as "President of the Watch Tower Society."
However, in line with adjustments made at last year's Annual Meeting,
emphasis in recent months has been placed on the spiritual role of these
brothers, as opposed to simply their position in a legal corporation. =

these brothers may be referred to as members of the Governing Body, or =
as
ones taking the lead among the Bible Students.
I hadn't picked up on this myself, but now I'm going to keep my eyes
open.

How can the new boys on the GB (like the inexperienced David Splane and Steven Lett) match up in "taking the lead" with guys like "other sheep" Don Adams and Bob Wallen (Pres and VP of the PA corp) who have given their entire lives "taking the lead" globally, over many decades of Bethel service?

Ah so. Who comprises the governing body today? Those taking the lead? Who are they? Just someone who happens to take the emblems?

Lots of partakers today are -- women. The number of old anointed males is falling off. Newer emblem partakers are almost invariably looked at suspiciously, because there really is no outward stamp of their spirit anointing.

New light to be published later?

Still waiting for someone to comment on the new Branch committee, and the changed/mooted roles of the Service Committee and other GB committees.

So the point is ... what? That religious freedom is a right worth suffering for, and therefore we shouldn't persecute family members whose religious views differ from our own? No way! The point is this: if this sister went to the meeting and gave her talk with a knife wound, you'd better show up and give your talk, because no one cares about your stupid head cold or whatever.

It's just another piece of "do more and do it better" crap.

The knife thing is just sick. How they can even metion this as an example is beyond me, for the sister showed a distinct lack of common sense. What she should have done is gone to the hospital. Anything else is just mind control.

But this is the eye-opening quote:

Bingo! Here is the next step being taken toward allowing Other Sheep to sit on the Governing Body. The brothers are being told not to refer to the past Presidents as that. Drop the titles. Just refer to them as those taking the lead. Even though they really were the presidents back then!

They want to condition the friends to stop thinking of titles, but using the more general "those taking the lead." It's now a very short leap toward non-anointed taking over completely.

More like she was afraid of being labelled "spiritually weak" and stuff. Scared of getting told off for not eating at the "spiritual" BS table. She should have been in hospital getting sorted out. Sick sick men. Evil twisted men.

I had guilt trips layed down on me when I was sick. Got told to attend, got dragged to one meeting when I was ill and had little sleep, incidentally, I was so out of it that the song "Lets watch how we walk" started off my doubts, I realised what a crock it was with that dodgy Kingdumb Melody, then I found this site.....

Questions, questions.

Have I found the pony at the bottom of the pile?

The Governing Body is or has been redefined as "those who take the lead"
whether anointed or other sheep?

Otherwise they have to scrounge for someone to replace
Swingle and Klein, and the other elderly as they die off such as Schroeder and Barr, Jaracz and Swingle.

Wonder if this will be announced at the annual meeting.
