Ate more than I've eaten in weeks! Breakfast and dinner buffet daily!!!

Got to see people than I hadn't seen in ages!!!

Made the best of it on the social level. Everything else is just the same old stuff. Dozed off during the program a few times. I've become quite the little disrespectful person towards spiritual talks and such.

I must say, though, the drama wasn't that bad. The scene of the demon-possessed slave girl was only 15 seconds long (I timed it), and the drama itself was 45 mins; so, as much as it was blown out of proportion by some on this board, it was really NOTHING to be concerned with in reference to children's and young adult's well being. I think the biblical story was presented in a tasteful manner.

Nevertheless, all in all, I enjoyed the little social break away from home. The hotel was great and I really enjoyed the pool.

I used to enjoy the DCs a lot more when I was all into the religion. Not anymore, not even the drama held my attention that much.

My social 'spiritually weak' circle, now that's another issue. I can deal with that just fine.

Check out my analysis of the drama. By comparing the scriptural backing I found some interesting discrepancies...

I respect your analysis and haven't seen the drama myself but I must say that sometimes we as adults forget or marginalize a certain event because we are older not realizing how a child may view the same material. Fifteen seconds may seem like nothing to us but those 15 seconds could really mess with a child's head. Kids have enough to worry about let alone thinking about imaginary demons attacking them.

Remember, God is just an imaginary friend for adults.

as with all teachings of the WTS they are made to inspire fear, which of course makes people more controllable. but i have to agree with the person that posted before me, the idea of a demon possessed girl could be quite traumatizing to a child and of course it would depend on the child as well. But I don?t think that subjecting a child to those sorts of things is positive. Granted people expose their children to all sorts of garbage today, however just because it was a small blip in the drama doesn?t mean it didn?t have a huge impact. In fact when talking with adults that have seen the drama that?s the first thing they mention, girl being possessed by demons. When I was a child the idea of demons terrified me and makes me angry that my parents did nothing to explain the truth of matter. children have enough to contend with today, lets not make it worse with possibility of demonic activity [according to the myth of demons] that they would have absolutely no control over. I find it extremely irritating, if I had child I would not have allow them to watch something they may not have the ability to comprehend entirely.

Why was any special voice effect used at all? The scripture this drama scene is based on only says she has a "spirit of prediction." Yet the drama amplifies this into a freak show.

The drama was all about Paul's life and ministery.

The extremelly short scene (15 seconds long, as opposed to the whole drama which lasted 45 mins) of the possessed slave girl was NOTHING to make such silly noise about.

If you saw the drama, stop your own personal drama about the 15-second scene already; and if you didn't see the drama, then see it and don't go by blown-out-of-proportion hearsay.

I could be just as critical as the next guy of some WTBTS affairs, but this is not one of them. The whole drama was very well presented and acted out in accordance to the bible story.

As if children nowadays aren't exposed to a heck of lot worse than that 15-second scene. Come off it already!
