I too still believe in satan and the demons. I believe it is an org. now that said, i do not believe everything that happens is the demons. I also believe that spirit creatures exist that are not demons and can help people. not sure about ghost, but there is a spirit world, i have had run ins with over the years, and while they do not harass me, i have had things happen over many years that porve to me they exist.

**Where are you in NY? We used to live in the Ballston Spa/Saratoga Springs area.

I'm way upstate----five minutes from Lake Ontario, about 40 miles north of Syracuse.

"my grandmother used to tell me that she was born with a caul.....but I never really understood what that was all about either."

    Sunspot,
A caul is now commonly known as the amniotic sac. It is said that babies who are born with the amniotic sac still intact are prone to being intuitive. The sac often breaks before active labor, or late in labor, but sometimes stays intact through the delivery.

One of my sons was actually born with a caul (the amniotic sac covering his face at delivery). He had a complete knot in his umbilical cord, too. It was an interesting birth, to say the least. While I'm not sure if he has any predictive type psychic abilities, he is a very sensitive young man, and tends to easily pick up on the emotions of others. He's totally different from my other sons.

I just read Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan. He's a bit of a killjoy, but an interesting read nonetheless...if you're looking for both sides of the argument.

A ghost hunt in New Orleans sounds like a game plan to *me*! That is my favorite city in the whole wide world! When we were down there last (it's 8 hours from me) we went on the Haunted New Orleans tour of the city. We came to this most infamous house near the end of the tour. It's where a doctor and his wife lived in the mid to late 1800's. She had several slaves, and would use them for torture purposes. She had secret walls behind the regular walls where she would torture her slaves, sometimes killing them. One night, while she was having a party, her slave that was chained to the stove purposely started a fire. When the fire brigade came and put out the fire, they found all the corpses of the tortured slaves. She and her husband had escaped by horse drawn carriage out of the city. She was never found and brought to trial. It was said during the two weeks following the fire, wails and screams were heard coming out of the house. Many decades later, it was discovered she had slaves under the floorboards, too! One window is bricked up because it is said that a slave woman was so distressed by living there that she threw herself out of the window on to the street below.

When we went on the tour, the tour guide told us that many people feel faint when the stand outside of this house, and some have even fainted. My husband, who is the skeptic of the century, actually started feeling sick and dizzy right at that spot. He said it was probably because of the power of suggestion and the graphic story. Who knows... I thought it was interesting coming from someone who thinks it's all a bunch of nonsense.

Here is another interesting "ghost" picture for your enjoyment:

The interesting thing to note about this photo is that the rest of the picture is *not* blurred, and you can actually see the shadow of the person's left hand on the the "ghost" part of her burred image. During the time this picture was being taken, the psychic felt like she was speaking to the ghost of a black man that haunted the premises. Although it's probably her blurred image, I think it's interesting you can see the shadow of her hand on the blur.
