Thanks for the newsflash. What a legacy Julia leaves for us..
I have learned so much from her work over the years. What a doll she is. Godspeed, Julia!
Whoa, I thought she was 91 like 10 years ago. She was such an entertaining person. May she have godspeed on her way to the ultimate gourmet kitchen in the sky.

Edit PS:
With Little Witch and me wishing her godspeed she definitely get there fasssssssssst. That's the same thing I said to Mary, aged 90 a couple of weeks ago when I paid my last respects. Cool, LW.
I loved that woman. I remember her designing a kitchen for This Old House not that long ago. The woman never really ever retired.

awe--- What a shame, she is a cooking legacy in her own right. I can't believe she was 91....
I toast a glass of sherry to that lovely gal.
Adieu.......
She was quite a gal alright! And as someone has said---she never did retire---always active and productive! She won't be forgotten.
Julia Child was a remarkable and admirable woman, who worked in many ways to make the world a better place.
Did you know that she worked for the OSS during the second World War?
She did: http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/2002/apr/spies/
One quote from Child may sum up her philosophy: "In spite of food fads, fitness programs and health concerns, we must never lose sight of a beautifully conceived meal."
"It's so beautifully arranged on the plate ? you know someone's fingers have been all over it."
