As a jw I was kind of discouraged from helping because it was always managed to be frowned upon one way or another, either verbally or implied.we used to do MAG runs..taking toys to childrens hospices on bikes....and giving blood..so those two went fast.....almost everything was'nt acceptable...Unless it was helping people out in the congregation.
when i left i wasnt working towards spreading the good news which we were told was the best way to help, and i got motivated again.
I collect for christmas boxes of presents for children in Eastern european countrie s which is a lovely way for my children to help out too.I write for a cancer charity paper and fundraise for them and help with riding for the disabled when I can.thats all my time allows at the moment.
