Sherry, you might want to take the dog to the vet just to make sure it isn't pancreatitis. Although I don't think the dog would be drinking so much water if he had it. It's just to be on the safe side.

I found out the hard way that dogs shouldn't be fed pork when I gave my dog the leftover pork tenderloin. He ended up with a severe case of pancreatitis and he had to hav an IV and antibiotics for three days. It could have costed me up to six hundred dollars or more, but when I told the vet what he had eaten and how soon he got sick after. The Vet let me take him home administer the antibiotics myself after he incerted the IV. It still ended up costing $200 but the dog got better, thank God!

As for a good chew toy. You can buy those ropes for dogs that have nots in them. Mine seem to like them anyway. Just make sure not to give them old shoes because they will think it's ok to chew on any and all shoes in the house.

I hope your dog is feeling better soon.

Thanks everyone for your advice, I really appreciate it. I'll watch him tonight and if he doesn't get better he'll be going to the vet tomorrow.

    Gypsy:

    We have a wolf dog

Who has wolf dogs? Where are wolves hanging out that will breed with dogs?

I gave our puppy mexican food a while ago. That didn't work out well. I now call him the red assed dog even though things got better. The idiot would eat mexican food right now though if I put it in his dish.

I'm so sorry about your puppy's experience Gretchen!! I always gave those pig ears to our pugs and thankfully nothing ever happened to, as far as I ever knew! But I never knew they can carry such terrible bacteria and make dogs so ill! I hope your baby is okay.

The wolf dog? We went to the pound looking for a little red cat. My husband spotted him & it was love at first bite. We took him to the vet for that prelimiary visit & everyone stopped dead in their tracks & said "It's a wolf, it's mostly wolf". He was about a year old & got in there in a city from being out on advnetures. It was the 3rd time he was incarcerated, & his previous owner didn't want to give him up, but we have 5 acres of woods, & the pound convinced them it was better.

    Your poor dog!!!!!

What about getting real bones from the grocery store. They sell leg bones and you can even talk to the butcher shop and get some good dog bones.
