well, i still believe i the spirit world. I do believe some are good and some bad. Since several of my experiences have been while i was with my husband and he also saw what i saw, i am safe saying both of us were not having a shared psychotic experience , ie seeing the exact same thing etc.

I have come to see that a lot of the problems jws have are sleep paralysis, and i feel some of what happended to me was just that. I can say that with certainity. However, some expreiences did not fit into that category and so yes, i still believe demons exist. i do not think they are harassing jws to the extent jws believe. I think jws obess to much about this. now that i am away from all of that, i do not obess about it and have found other explanations for things that occur. however, some things that occ occur cannot be explained away.

that is why is say, i still believe they exist, but i am not troubled by this any longer. I feel this is much more balanced than i was originally.

btw, siroa, I always enjoy your comments

    Hey,

Us skeptics don't mellow out. We just get tired of the same old discussions ;)

Fighting our "demons" is mearly fighting our animalistic nature, our ego! Nothing more. Our ego is both emotionally and intellectually driven and gets us into all kinds of ned. Beyond that, as Eliene Pagels would attest, it is a figment of a very active imagination and a way to control large groups of people collectively and individually.

    Wednesday,

Yes, its good to have some balance and realise that some experiences are not "supernatural".

I enjoy your comments too. It was strange reading that thread from all that time ago,

    wednesday,

however, some things that occ occur cannot be explained away.

Until you discovered sleep paralysis, you thought those events couldn't be explained away. Isn't it possible - likely even - that the events you now think can only be explained by demons, also have more mundane explanations?

I remember the thread well, but I never took part.

Six used to be so much more verbose, in those days

REM used to post, too. I miss the young codger.
I think he moved on to be a poster-child for "Skeptics R us".
