I pick them up from time to time... at the laundromat... only to rip them in half!!! and toss them into the nearest trashbin!

No - I don't need - or want to read that stuff.

When I was still married - the wifey would leave them strategically placed around the house... I never picked them up then, either. I would push them aside if they were in the way.

I read the WT study articles to critique them for my review. Some weeks it is hard. Most of it is TSOC.

I found the Awake articles embarrassing. It was easy to see that the WTS watered them down and skewed the approach for non-JWs.

I used to read them but Walkill cancelled my subscriptions.

    NO!!!

I have heard some "faders" keep getting them to keep up with stuff, to know what their adult children are being taught.......(Makes sense to me)

However, Blondie does a great job with the WT study...and that is the most important study with the JW's, right??????

Thanks to some that still go to d conventions and assemblies.......many here give updates...........so it's almost like being there.

Doesn't seem like a lot new is going on...except for the new tract campaign coming up.....does anybody know what that is entitled?

i scan through them and sometimes read them to find out what they are changing because of "new light". Like i read the one about birthdays and they also had an article in the awake one time talking about fireworks. When i read this i only thought of really 2 occasions when fireworks are displayed in US and wondered why did they even do an article on them...like a JW will ever be able to enjoy them. Because dubs are not supposed to celebrate New Year's Eve and they don't celebrate July 4th either, so when would they see the fireworks.

But on another note...i just through away a large stack of them yesterday when cleaning out my room....In some deep recess of my conscience the JW pieces still left were crying out,"NOOOO don't throw them away,", but guess what...I did it anyway.....

I promised I would still read them but then I never really read them when I was in either. I would scan the awake briefly or read until I got to the scriptural parts then skip over them. I have absolutely no interest in reading more of the garbage now. Especially if it's highlighted and left out for me to read. Curiosity has been overruled by apathy.

I get the mags from the nice JW ladies that stop by my house occasionally and I do read them occasionally and I give them a donation. They have been coming for a year now they havent asked me to have a bible study or anything. Is that the the way they do things now?

i think its the way most have always done it. as long as they can keep reordering mags and handing in donations it makes them all feel better.

When I get hold of magazines I take a look at the study articles and the QfR to see if some "New Light" is coming up to share it with the Ex-JW community.

i never really read them even when i was a witness, since i left the most i have read are the covers whenever i visit my family's house, if i happen to see one laying there, and they are always depressing and giving off negative energy.
