I guess what bothers me about this thread is that my mom is probably someone most of ya'll would apparently consider stupid....she made comments from time to time like those Terry listed. She was very naive but she was also sweet and kind. My dad made her feel like an idiot though because of it, so I don't "get" the feeling of wanting to kill or make people like that think less of themselves.

I remember when I was taking Mechanics in high school. We had one girl in our class. I swear, I had never seen a pair of bright pink coveralls until I met her!

Anyway, the teacher was standing in front of the class for about 15 minutes, describing how a piston worked. He was using an actual piston to demonstrate. The girl raises her hand and asks, "Is that thing your holding a piston?" Everyone else in the class let out a huge groan in disbelief.
