    remember you,
    will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by,
    weep not for the memories
    *
remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from from us when
    things got bad.
    *
how clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun,
wanna feel your warmth upon me,
    I wanna be the one
    *
    I will remember you,
    will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by
    weep not for the memories
    *
    I'm so tired but I can't sleep,
standing on the edge of something much too deep,
it's funny how we feel so much
    but cannot say a word,
    we are screaming inside
    but we can't be heard.
    *
    but I will remember you,
    will you remember me?
don't let your life pass you by,
    weep not for the memories.
    *
I'm so afraid to love you,
    but more afraid to lose,
clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose,
    once there was a darkness,
    deep and endless night,
you gave me everything you had,
    you gave me light,
    and I will remember you,
    will you remember me?

I had the good fortune to see Sarah at last summer's Lilith Fair. She did this song and when she performed Angel...gawd!!!

I thought of the song you quoted as one that I related to some of the feelings I went through while making the decision to leave the Org.

Then I play "Raise a Little Hell" by Trooper and get all fired up again!! smirk

Kiz, I just love Sarah, Natalie Merchant, Loreena McKennitt, Joan Osborne, and the Queen mother-Joni
Mitchell. I think Sarah's Mirrorball, my favorite CD of hers is just full of leavin' the Org. type songs.

At the same time Sarah McLaughlin is one of the coolest femmes around, and I kick myself for not going to Lilith Fair. Sinead, Tori Amos, Delores from the Cranberries, Holly McNarland, Kate Bush- all cool too :)

AC/DC were never the same after Bon Scott died Path!.Man, I dont know what it is with Rock and rollers, always choking on their own vomit and popping one too many pills.Jim Morrison and Hendrix...what a waste, but i suppose it adds to the legend status.Hey, What about poor old Mama Kas from the Mama and the Papas...everyones's going out in style, dying of drug overdoses, and whats she do...chokes on a ham sandwich...she really messed up there HuH!.Now if the sandwich had been spiked with high grade Smack...then she would have been a real legend, but the choking on a sandwich bit just doesnt ring true.Maybe if she had choked on a ham sandwich while riding a motor bike at 50 clicks above the speed limit and at the same time was shootin'up... now that would have worked!.Nah, You just cant idolise someone who chokes on dinner...really!

I was too young to have seen them then Zep, but I've never seen old guys, or anyone for that matter rock like these guys. Worth every penny for the ticket to see these guys.

Save your money if the Smashing Pumkins are coming through on a farewell tour. It was more like a f#%$-you than a farewell to the fans who never bought their last crappy album. For a band with lots of good hits to play only the obscure stuff, I think is way too self-indulgent and an insult to all who paid to hear songs they at least know.

Path, Thanks for the Smashing Pumpkins tip. I've never been offended by bands playing obscure stuff. Maybe that's where we differ. It's a bands ability to re-invent themselves over the years that keeps me interested in them as artists. Geezer-rock bands like AC/DC are okay, but play something you weren't playing when I was a baby if you want me to shell out $75 for a ticket. Mick Jagger was once quoted as saying,"I'd rather be dead than be singing "Jumping Jack Flash," when I'm 40. It only proves that as long as you can put a$$es in the seats, who cares?

Hey, don't get me wrong about the obscure stuff. I went to the Cure's last show here this year too, and mostly it was the obscure stuff, but for some reason this was different.

Can't really explain why, but the audience just was not happy with it and I walked out before the set finished.

This was a music festival, the Pumkins were headliners, last act, everyone was looking forward to it, but tired, it rained for about 15 minutes before they got on. The least they could do was play a few songs we knew. I'm just tired of arogant bastards like Billy Corgan. Thats all. Have a great night.

Path, Bon Scott was the original lead singer of AC/DC...sung TNT & Back in black& dirty deeds...all the real hits...its common knowledge in Australia.I dont know, the lead singer of Acdc these days sounds like hes choking on gravel.
I can understand how you a little p'ssed at the Pumpkins,,,i mean,You want to to a concert and hear atleast a few hits mixed in with the obscure stuff....Rock bands that take themselves too seriously as artists really do irritate. As i see it, Rock bands have a life of about 3 albums these days MAX...after that they tend to just suck, it becomes the same old same old!.

Loreena McKennitt....I just love her music. Have you ever listened to Gordon Bok? He's a folk singer from Maine....plays the twelve-string and has some wonderfully melancholy Down-Easter-type songs.
