    thats halarious

a new believer being baptised in a pool advertising "the Beast"

of course they should have said no if only so new belivers didnt have to thank "the beast" for allowing them to be baptised..its hypocrasy ot then expect them ot go on to see the Un as evil when it has allowed them to be baptised...i mean satan is really letting himself down if the UN really was satan.

has satan joined the WTS or somthing that hes providing baptisum pools.

.for years we've been fed stories of how brothers and sisters have gone with out and suffered so as to keep their principles.you cant even give money to a good cause if its not JW cause.

As far as I remember, to the WT the UN is "bad" as part of Satan's political empire, but no more so than any national government. Would they refuse to hold an assembly in a public building displaying the national flag? I guess not. So what's the difference?

    very good point

Please, make fuzz over what is questionable, over what should be made fuzz over, for example over the NGO case, but don't use the poorest of the poor, African refugees trying to make use of whatever is at hand, to score easy victories.

Who is scoring easy victories exactly? The WTBTS blasts the UN as a part of the beast, so refugees get help from the evil beast, yet in the midst JWs are baptising the people who benefit from the UN, moreso one could dare say than getting the good news of the kingdom...Mags don't digest well...? Do they know about just how evil the beast is? I think not. You tell me who is scoring easy victories amongst people that don't have a clue and probably could care less what a bunch of fat white bastards in Brooklyn think of the UN. So, let us discuss scoring easy virctories Old Hippy...If anything the irony of JWs getting baptised in a pool ala UN relief is obvious.

    Sincerely,

    District Overbeer

Can someone phot shop a pic the beast jumping out of the pool? I'd love to have it on a shirt, but I suck at photoshopping. Here's one pic of the beast.

I'm not gonna be one to jump on the band-wagon here. I looked at the WT pic. My opinion:

The "wading pool" is a hole dug in the ground, lined with a tarp, and filled with water.

The tarp has the United Nations HCR logo on it. I don't know if the logo is on both sides of the tarp. If it is, and it is the only thing available to make the pool, then they (JWS) did what they could to do what they do to save souls. If the tarp was printed only on one side, then they should have turned it over! May have been calculated, maybe not. The UN probably did not provide the tarp specifically for the baptismal pool, but for "normal" tarp uses, like temporary housing. It was the JWs that commandeered the tarp for their purposes.

I don't think there was any conspiracy here. Only idiocy in not turning the tarp over.

No, I'm not a WTS supporter. Just a calm mind amidst wome over eager finger pointing.

** I don't think there was any conspiracy here.

    Brenda,

I didn't think of this as a conspiracy----more of a shock when this was sent to me by a total stranger from Croatia! Obviously, he/she must have thought it strange too!

**Only idiocy in not turning the tarp over.

We ALL know what sticklers the WTS is for "appearances", and the fact that someone may have "forgotten" to invert the tarp just doesn't ring true somehow! It's the rafter/straw thing all over again---the WTS will piss and moan and hurl accusations at "other religions", but after all their years of ranting and name-calling of the UN---NOW they "decide" its perfectly acceptable to have a baptism with everyone gawking at the UN symbol! It doesn't make sense----oh, then, I guess it DOES-since the WTS doesn't hate the UN any more (for whatever THEIR reasons may be).

**No, I'm not a WTS supporter. Just a calm mind amidst wome over eager finger pointing.

I guess you see it differently than I do, which makes us all individuals! We can agree to disagree---soething that we gave up as JWs! MY problem is the basic hypocrisy that the WTS arrogantly flaunts and gets away with. If that's finger-pointing, so be it. I don't mean this sarcastically, but I see this as one more slimy action that the WTS thinks they are putting over on the JWs.....and it irritates the hell out of me.

    hugs back,

I just think... as a jw (them), how would it be to babtized to dedicate your life to whom you think is the only God, with help of the "Wild Beast"!? Wouldn't that babtism be tainted just a bit?

I have to agree with Annie on this one. All I have to do is to think about all those years we were counceled on not stumbling anyone with things that could be a cause for stumbling Don't hang up windchimes, don't burn insense, destroy a hundred year old inheritance from you Grandma if it has a tiny cross on it. Men don't wear a bit of hair on your chin. Men don't wear patterned shirts to the meetings. Children burn your carebears because they have idolatrus symbols on them....and the list goes on and on--all of things things were thought of as being causes for stumbling. They could have covered over these symbols if they wanted to, but they didn't, because they were using them to shmooze their sworn enemy. Look at the picture above of the woman riding the wild beast...remember what the WT said about the UN? Look at the picture of the baptismal pool again--think about it...

How many of you are feeling stumbled right now?

In fact, my screen name Maca is Croatian for Kitty.

    Hey, Maca!

When I did my apprenticeship at the local steelworks, I worked with a whole bunch of Croatians. They taught me that Machka (sp?) is Croatian for (male) cat. (Whereas the Macedonians told me that the same word meant a female cat).

BTW, it was the only non-swear word they taught me!

Consider also whether choosing to get a tattoo would enhance or undermine your claim of being a Christian. Could it be a "cause for stumbling" others? (2 Corinthians 6:3) True, some youths have had their tattoos placed on hidden areas of the body. Even their parents may not know about these secret tattoos. But beware! An emergency trip to the doctor or simply taking a shower at school could make your secret common knowledge! Better it is to "conduct ourselves honestly in all things," avoiding foolish deception.?Hebrews 13:18.

Well, here's the WT article just posted on another thread about being stumbled by a tatoo...Again, relate this one to UN logo on the pool. Is a hidden tatoo more cause for stumbling than a UN logo on a baptismal pool? According to the WT it is--they didn't even hide it in their photo.

i think most people would see a UN logo as unimportant in their lives ,this as a tiny unimporant issue which iswhy some people here can can say thinsg such as "what does it matter"

however i would like to see you attempt this sort of reasoning within your local congragation perhaps a little issue such as a ring with a star on or a henna tatoo not even permenant or wearing trousers to meetings etc see how far your rational gets you then.

i can well remember article that pointed out that how things look is important ,think this was the beard issue.even if your not a student activist you might look like one and thats what counts. the WTs have gone on about this yet on such an important issue as the beast it suddenly doesnt count.!!!

scroll down to post that shows a complete page of "from our readers" notice the tatoo letter .

the reason people are pointing fingers is because it is the WTS that has made such tiny issues like this so big in peopels lives ..its totaly natural that people will judge them by the standards that they dicatate .

    cyber sista nice example
