we had a dearly loved cat die while we were at a district convention . It was horribly hot, . We did not know she had gotten out of the house and when we came home, well, we were in shock. we greived for weeks. she was a member of the family.

I am really sorry about your cat, Country Girl. We had a cat we just loved. She was a really wonderful cat, a sweet personality and you know they don't all have sweet personalities, some are just hooligans. But when she was only a year old she got hit by a car. My husband and I cried and cried and 9 years later I still tear up when I think about her. I don't think it's at all shallow, and I don't think there's any heirarchy of suffering. Otherwise we could never grieve at all because there's always someone worse off.

Country Girl I'm so sorry to hear of your cat's passing. I don't think you should fear that this is a shallow subject, yes there are a lot of worse problems in the world, but almost all of us have had a beloved pet and we can understand how deeply they entrench themselves around your heart. Its truly sad to lose such a dear friend.

I agree 100% with what Myauntfranny stated.

There is nothing shallow or silly about what you posted. It was full of love and caring for a part of your family and a part of your life. I love animals and my two spoiled rotten dogs are part of my life and family and I know that I will be a basketcase when their time comes. You were kind in putting your cat to sleep, definitely not a murderer, and caring for him as you did. It sounds like you able to give each other true love in life....which is more than some people/animals get to experience.

I have spent all day yesterday at the vet with my cat.

She is sick. They had her all day and said give her chicken and rice.

If I hear that one more time from a Vet who charges me $200 I will puke, like her.

She is next to me right now, she is so sick. I know what she has. I have seen it before, I hate doctors and Vet's. Tell me we have a couple of days, weeks, months.........

My cat vomited all night again.

I am so sorry for your loss, I have so many in cats that were the best. All I can do is give you a internet hug. This really sucks.

Feline leukemuia does not go away with their stupid shots.

((((((((((CG)))))))))))))) It's not silly at all. They say death is hardest to handle when it's a pet. With people we have so many conflicting emotions...we have bad memories and unresolved guilt to deal with the loss. With pets it's just good stuff...rarely bad. You are a good momma. I can tell that about you. But I am lifting you up today...I know how hard it is.

((((((((((NPY))))))))))))) I hate to think about the "end" with any of my babies. But I know it will happen some day...I just don't think about it.

I love that we now have the freedom to love animals and keep them in our homes! Every congregation I was in, didn't really look highly upon it.
