It's easy to forget the human tradgedy and loss behind the headlines when we just read them and can then turn off and go elsewhere. Others aren't so furtunate and have to live with the consequences of the WTS' criminal actions.

My condolences to both the mother and father of this young woman, dreadful.

Secondly, why don't all those making judgments listen long enough to get the full story instead of just blasting away? Example.....the Google list of articles on this subject made mention that :
'theyoung girl was given 38 transfusions and 4 chemo sessions, and died 2 months later.

She was made a 'ward of the state', the province taking custody.

She had a psychiatrist and 5 pediatricians give her their acknowledgement tbat she was mentally capable.

The Cross Cancer Institute is also being sued and their doctors.

Yet, you all make out as if you are 'judge and jury'. Why not take note of what many of the articles said, namely: 'the allegations are yet to be proven in court.'. Is truth of no value here?

Lawrence...I have been following this whole situation right from the beginning. My heart goes out to you for the terrible pain you have endured.

I saw the announcement on Global TV news today, and I was thinking of you.

I'm glad you have the courage to take this to another level. From what I saw on the media, Bethany seemed like she was a very intelligent young woman with the same courage.

It is people like you who effect change for the better. Even if you don't win this, you will have raised awareness, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you continued to fight for your daughter.

I am french, so excuse-me for my english.

I don't know if this information could be helpfull in the law's suit that you start but i give it to you.

In 2001, a french's doctor revealed in a national newspaper called "Le Monde" (October 27 2001) that JW's autorities recognize to french's doctor that by year, there were 15 single cases of JW needed blood's transfusions in France.

To explain more simply . There were no alternative treatments other than blood's transfusions in this 15 case by years in France ONLY. And this is the french's jw's leaders who acknowledged that !!!

If we make a projection to all the jw in the world in taking the number of french's jw in 2001 versus the number of JW in the world. It give 720 cases by year where no alternative treatments are possible than blood's transfusion...

720 JW are playing with their lives each year in the world.

As difficult it may be for you to go through with this, There are so many behind you 100%. You could call us the silent majority. We are stating your case (as well as others) to our friends and neighbours, over coffee, at social gatherings, over the fence, or even thru our newspapers & computers.

I once used a parallel using the Walkerton Water Scandal, to highlight how my hubby (recent recruit) is disregarding facts just to protect this new "club". His reply was

"Then I'd drink the water and die"

This statement came out of his mouth and mind after a relatively short indoctrination period. What chance then, would a 16 year old raised in this propaganda as from the "lips of god", be able to make an truly informed decision?
