ha ha ha Danny. I unwrap them outside and throw them on the ground first!
If no creepy crawlers come out, I pick them up and rinse them, ha ha ha.
Lisa,
See there you go, sharing a perfectly acceptable receipe, but leaving out one of the most important elements, methods, measurements:
'Throw the leaves on the floor, turn the garden hose on full blast, wash leaves thourghly, turning them over carefuly, look for any thing moving on the surface of the leaves, if needed, apply the heel of your most sturdy pair of boots.'
Lesson 6o9 of basic culinary arts 101.
Your welcome.
Danny
Just think, in some countries they probably cook the banana spider with the fish. Tender on the outside, flaky on the inside.
YUCK!
mike.
Expect nothing and you will never be disappointed,
Ok Mike,
You being a good ole southern boy and all, when was the last time (if ever) you sampled the culinary delight....SUSHI?
When I resided in GA we had to get by with canned tortillas, not even a mexican restraunt to be found anywhere. Well maybe Atlanta, but never looked.
Have tried it?
BearFish
Sushi is on my list to try. Maybe if I like it, I'll learn to cook it.
Great mexican restaurants here now.
Ever try the Indian restaurants in Atlanta? I used to go to one. Wonderful food and they let me drink beer with dinner when I was only 19.
"Well done, Blind Squirrel! You've found an impressive nut!
Hello again Mike,
Laughing with you when you said ***Sushi is on my list to try. Maybe if I like it, I'll learn to cook it.***
You answered my question about available Sushi restraunts in GA. Hey buddy, that's just it, you don't HAVE to cook it, you eat the fish RAW. UH Oh changed your mind now?
No I think you will try it. Probably is a Sushi bar or two in Atlanta.
What makes the whole thing great, is the chef (has to be Japanese) or it aint the same, performs a real artistry with the preperation of each little morsel. Hand movements, body movements, all in fluid motion, until you are presented with two little oblong balls of rice with special hot mustard, topped with a very fine sliver of raw fish, usually, salmon, yellowtail, tuna. Alongside is a mound of pickeled, shaved, sweet ginger. Absolute heaven. After you get by the raw fish, you can go onto raw sea urchin (not for the faint of heart), roe sushi, raw quail egg sushi. All a real gormet delight.
Be prepared to spend anywhere from $2.00 to $10.00 per plate. If you like to eat like I do, my bill is usually about $30.00 to $40.00, but I only get the treat every month or so.
You sit around the sushi bar, chatting with the chef and other patron's, there always seems to be a newbie trying it for the first time, a cup of sake or Sapporo Beer or two or three...makes for an entire evening of fun. BTW never rush the chef..he will serve you in his own time.
Hope you give it a try, I think you will enjoy.
Danny
Ps...got your comment on the other thread...pretty good advice...
Hey, DBear... Bendrr... peace to you!
Sushi is cool... 'da bomb! I like cucumber roll, California roll, Ebi (shrimp) and most like whatever is the house 'speciality'. Can't hack the tuna, though. (Don't like it canned too much... so raw? Uh, no.)
DBear... CARNITAS! Ai-yi-yi... MAS bueno. Te gusto mucho, mi hermano!
But what you got against big banana spiders, BearMan? What's a banana spider ever dun 'ta YOUSE?! (Huh! Hoomuns... always goin' 'round thinkin' they better'n some a others 'o God's cree-ay-shuns... wantin' 'ta mash folks all up under dey boots 'an all...)
Uh, did someone mention Crown Royal? Huh? Huh? Did'ya? Huh? (Smackin' lips) Ah, uh... oh, yeah, shoot. Dang. I don't drank no 'mo. Ah, well, enjoy and think of me as you do! (Only be sure to think NICE thoughts, though, okay?)
Peace to you all (my Lord KNOWS this board needs a little bit 'o peace... right about now...)
SJ
Shelby,
Welcome to Bendrr's 'galloping gormet' kitchen. Where men share their favorite receipes, while the ladies wait to be served. Come on in!
Whats your pleasure madame?
***DBear... CARNITAS! Ai-yi-yi... MAS bueno. Te gusto mucho, mi hermano!***
Si,Si senorita comidas MAS buenos! Carnitas, machaca, rellenos, y lengua en mole, sabrosa. Con cerveza de Dos XX's o Americano bastante bien? I like chile rellenos the best, driping with cheese and butter in flour tortillas.
Y muchos gracias my hermanita, Shelby.
Don't mind a shot or two of worm juice now and then either, but the bearman gets a little crazy, so have to check out the landscape before getting carried away, so to speak. Ahem
Nice to hear from you Shell.
Danny
Do you eat the worm, too, DBear? Wow! My younger brother did that once... what a show! El/la Mescal! Ay-yi-yi...
LOL!).
Vaya con dios, hermano mio!
Su hermanita,
Shelby
