    Mulan,

I couldn't help but wonder what the first people who saw it thought. I hope they weren't in a canoe.

I was there in 1981and took a tour of the power plant on the American side. There was a large mural on the wall depicting the discovery of the falls by "whoever" and I think a Jesuit priest (you know.......one of those who raped, robbed and pillaged the peaceful? indians who lived there for centuries if not milleniums) in order to "convert" them! But yes..........it must have been even more magnificent in it's original state. I can't wait o see it again.

We visited there when we went to Toronto in July. It was *the* single most awesome natural site I have ever seen in my life. The power and energy generated by the Falls was incredible, not to mention the noise. We went on the Maid of the Mist, which was very fun, and got to see a close up of the falls. I think the Canadian side is my favorite side! Hope you enjoy your trip DappyHad! Please take photos! I can't upload mine here for some reason....
