    Terry:
Supposing they were the only two rabbits in existence and you wanted to preserve them from extinction.
Would you choose to continue breeding them, even if their lifespan was foreshortened?

Further, your illustration depends on the JW concept of living forever in perfect health being the original purpose for man.
The WTS are the ones who suggest that the alternative to eating the fruit was everlasting life. The bible doesn't state that.

We might be working from different directions, but at least we're both helping challenge JW conceptions in our own way

I'd prefer to think of it this way. Animals seem to instinctively know which plants are poisonous.
One of those was in the coop, along with much more than enough to eat.

They knew what they were doing.

Only because they had at one time nibbled on some and got sick... usually as a "pup". The young are more resilient and will be more likely to survive.

Give me a poisonous plant and an adult animal that has never seen it before and I will show you a dead animal.

    Anyone seen the Antifreeze?

The laws of christianity teach people that we are to respect a persons right to exist even if they are the worst type of human immaginable .GOD himself reserves the right to judge and execute judgement .

of course, that's assuming that god himself instituted the laws now subscribed to by christianity...

Suppose you had two rabbits that were diseased and you knew that their offspring would be diseased and miserable. Would you still preserve them?

Suppose that you had the power to painlessly end their existance and create two perfect rabbits whose offspring would be perfect and happy. What would you do? Keep the diseased rabbits and their diseased offspring or start over with two new perfect rabbits?

I would like to say many unbeleivers here have done an excellent job in the common sense reasonings, this thread has to be a real eye opener for many lurking JW. Keep up the deprogramming.

    just a side point...

very simply put, if we had the power to cure the stupid rabbits, would we? or would we stand there and watch them suffer? no, no...take away all the "perfect justice" stuff and "Divine Authority under attack" stuff that we project upon god. yes or no, would you fix the rabbits? if you would not, you are a monster. i refuse to worship the god that would let them suffer.

Actually, it's usually a learned behaviour from their parent, almost like a non-verbal version of "eat that and you'll die within the day..."

Undercover:I guess that might depend on the degree of suffering and how useful they might be.
Some folks would prolong life, regardless of the consequences.

Further, some offspring might live to a reasonable age, with no ill effects or deformities.

    Doogie:
Supposing you were able to insert a DNA strand that would fix the disease within 1000 generations. Would you stick with the program?

    Who?

Well, depends on how you view it. Since it's a bad story IMO, Satan...but really I meant God.

Geez, I was gone for about two hours and y'all have filled up another page with this.
