    Oh wow!

    Great thread!

Yes, many of us have been in similar situations as you...I'm sorry you have gone through so much!

Most have shared their stories, and the one thing we all have in common, is an overwhelming happiness that we now are starting IN THE REAL LIFE...one free of fairy tale beleifs and Fear, Obligation and Guilt by a cult and cult minded people!

Welcome to the rest of our lives! Lets all make them count and enjoy them!

I know many here question why I still go to meetings. I am bored at most meetings because I feel to much emphasis is placed on "Jehovah's Earthly Organization", Obey to the Elders, You are not doing enough in Service, If you do not use technology to praise Jehovah you are not keeping up, etc.

I feel enough emphasis is not placed on the every day problems we have to deal with. Where is the practicality for the regular publishers? Then I think of the writers at Bethel, have no bills, no children, free housing and food so they push the obey card to the limit and makes us look over our shoulders when we are out and about to make sure no one is watching us to slip up and be lacking in some area. I would say that 75% of our Public Talks are of no benefit to the regular pub!

    Wow!!! Wow!!! Wow!!!

"The next meeting I was called to the back room with 2 Elders and counseled never to question an Elder in front of others."

I really give you guys ALOT of credit that can contain yourself with some of these a holes. If this had been said to me all bets would be off. I don't care how much family or friends I would loose, this one would have pushed me over the edge. There are just 2 words that come to my mind that I would have relayed to the 2 Elders and they have to do with having relations with yourself.

These are the threads that really confirm how abusive these people are. Incredible!! So glad EVERYDAY we escaped!!!!

Welcome James Jack - It sounds like your Body of Elders (BOE) were like most BOE's - Modern Day Pharisees.  Most likely they considered you a threat or were jealous of you and your wife, your talents and your accomplishments and they were looking for just one reason to get rid of you as an elder.

I know the feeling of being on a BOE where you know you are not wanted.  I am so glad my wife and I are out.  No more mind numbing meetings, no more trips to the back room.  Take any of these two-bit egotistical jerks out of the congregation and they HAVE NO POWER.  They are irrelevant in the real world.

Again welcome and may you find peace.

I am SOOOOO glad that there are so many Ex-Elders, MS's & Pioneers that are waking up.

Am I the only one seeing this (I'm fairly new here)? There seems to be ALOT of new members that are joining that were of the Uber Class.
