To me this seems cruel. What do you think about it?

After my divorce I heard from a friend that my ex-husband's new wife was doing this to his son to stop him from telling lies. I was very upset about it especially since he had learned to lie from his father.

I think it is mean, what do you think about it?

I've known people who do it. Put Tabasco in their mouths. I think it's sick. It would put my daughter in immense pain and my son would ask for more.

Cruel and unusual. If you want to do something along those lines, an itty bitty amount of liquid soap on their tongue would be rather nasty.

It seems extreme and cruel to me.

That chick that played "Blair" on Facts Of Life, is a big advocate of hot-saucing kids.

Ick. Blech. Maybe all parents should just be given littl shock collars for their kids. That will teach the buggers some boundaries!

god that is nothing. i used to get my mouth washed out with dishwashing liquid if i talked back, got hit when i deserved it, and when i set things on fire my punishment was to hold a match until it burned out in my fingers.

hot saucing sounds like a fun way to punish your kids without hurting them... they would laugh about it in later life like i laugh about the ways i was punished, i don't know why people make a big deal of things. pain makes you learn, and a bit of suffering makes you stronger.

I have heard this on the news lately and i can't imagine duing such a cruel thing to a child. The damage that can be done to the childs mouth and taste buds could last a life time. People astound me with the things they do to teach their children.

okay, if it harms the taste buds then it's wrong.

The gal that played Blair on The Facts of Life, recently came out and said that she hot sauces her kids. I do think it's cruel. I've never once had to implicate such drastic measures on Spencer. He's 7 and used a dirty word 3 times in his life, and caught hell from me, verbally about it, and he hasnt used them since. I think it's sick

This is as cruel as making a child kneel on a hard floor with rice. Yes, some parents do that too!

What is the point of that? What is that supposed to teach a child?
