I have had PLENTY of experience dealing with City Council (unfortunately) and since a church is a "part of the community" they tend to give a lot of lee-way to them.

What I suggest, first try to speak to the Pastor, regarding this matter. Document every interaction and every time you are disturbed. If they do not cease the disturbances. Get a neighborhood Petition going. Present it to the Council at a public forum or citizen's forum, where you may address the council. Make it a public record!

Still, if nothing is done to correct this problem.. then call the media. Channel 9, here in Charlotte, have a whistle blowers line. They do community action stories. See if your local media has this available.

After all how Christian is it, to rob your neighbors of peace? Good luck!

I like the car alarm symphony idea...

get a bunch of neighbors with car alarms to get near the vicinity of the church just after their sunday sermon starts.

Position one car on the north side of the bldg, one on the east side, one on the west side, and one on the south side...

Then, starting with one car alarm; thirty seconds later car alarm #2( and #1 is still going), thirty seconds later, car alarm #3 (and #1 and #2 are both still going), thirty seconds later, #4 (with numbers 1, 2 & 3 still going) You may quite possibly exceed the human limit for loud noises, so wear earplugs or shooter's earmuffs.

If any cops show up, it's just, "gee, I'm sorry - it must have been a short circuit. I'll get it taken care of. It's never done this before." I'm sure glad I happened to have these earplugs in the car for when I go to rock concerts."

LOL- then there's the "Sunday Brunch with Ozzie Osborne" idea. And then just tell them that Sunday mornings is when you and all of your neighbors have "decided" to have your parties. You could even get the proper "permit" to hold these block parties so when the Pastor calls to complain the answer he/she receives will be "well, there isn't much we can do, they do have a permit"

Yes, hold block parties each month, Sunday's at 10:00am. Block their cars in accidently, make loud noise, hell, hire a band!
