At first, I tried all those tricks. I got tired of them. I just started adding 25 to 50 hours a month to my time slip. It only took a few seconds.
I concluded that since Jehovah was probably going to kill me for using "tricks" to get my time, I'd might as well give him the best reason possible: take the easist way out possible and LIE! Jehovah is still on vacation (he hasn't killed me yet) and I'm still here. When he does get around to killing me, those 30 plus years of freedom from Watchtower slavery I've been able to enjoy were well worth it!

Bogus ways of counting your Field Service Time...

Me and my ministerial servant buddy had a system. We'd go to the service arrangement, and go out together on the excuse that we were doing return visits. Then we'd go out for breakfast, and then to a bar where we'd sit and drink all day. We counted our time straight through because we were wearing our suits. Besides, the barmaids knew we were JWs, so if they had any questions they could ask us any time.
We "witnessed" by our conduct. heh heh.

Wow, that list by RunningMan was good!
Stuff like that was always a source of internal conflict for me. People really did move slowly, walking down the street at the most leisurely pace imaginable. And there was this sort of tacit understanding: "Why on earth should we rush?" Part of me agreed with the sentiment, but part of me recognized the implication: "We're not rushing because we're trying to do as little work as possible this morning."
But even those measured strolls down the street on Saturday morning were like sprints of gleeful productivity compared to the endless driving we did in Japanese service. Japanese service was basically like doing return visits, forever, except that nobody was ever home, and if they were, it very often turned out that they didn't speak Japanese anyway. A huge portion of our effort consisted of crossing names from our list, watching a "territory" be reduced from 40 names to perhaps 12. Literally days and weeks could go by without speaking to anyone, and certainly without speaking to anyone substantively.
Looking back, I have to shudder when I think of the gigantic portion of my life spent looking out the window of the service group car, observing and secretly envying the people outside carrying on normal activities, shopping, walking the dog, talking happily, eating a late breakfast. We passengers were like prisoners on a ghost train, passing through a lively junction-town but never stopping to take a stroll through it.
1.2 billion hours a year, they say. But how many hours of happiness?

Any count of time in "the ministry" you hear for JWs is completely bogus. JWs are allowed to count driving time, walking time, knocking on unanwered door time. Plus the whole count is basically doubled because they go in twos. This gets ridiculous when you realize that 5 JWs will get in a car to do "calls", taking turns going to the doors, but all will count the time.
My favorite way to count time is to visit non-JW family. They know you are a JW, mention that you went to a convention, whatever. Count the whole day and a couple "Return Visits."
I also count my time on JWD. Only when I'm posting though, counting time while browsing offends my conscience.

Technically, you should only count time while you are actually typing. Try to type as slowly as possible.

In my area, walking slowly down the street is called the "pioneer shuffle" or "pioneer stroll".

Yeah,
Ezekiel.
That technique is called the sandwich.
Used it many time.
Bring a study to a convention and then count all the time.
An all time "seasoned" pioneer favorite.

Like standing on the street corner at 8am on a Sunday morning!!! Like who the F*** drives by and if they did they must have thought we were crazy religious nuts. What were we thinking that as they drive by at 50 mile an hour, seeing us standing there in the freezing cold, all of a sudden seeing the light and yelling out the window, "wait right there I'll be right back, I want what you have".

I always rounded up. I didn't believe in turning in fractions. So if I got 15 minutes in I would round it up to an hour. Lots of JWs did that and probably still do.

My all time favorite.......RURAL TERRITORY!!!!! For those of us that were lucky enough to have rural territory, all you needed was simi-fun "car group" and you spend the next 6-8 hours driving around in the sticks, knock on 3 doors, talk to 1 person............. Turn in 8hours! hehehehe
