    I take a couple of Excedrin PM...I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis, but it helps me sleep from time to time.

    I've been an insomniac since I was a kid. Here's what I do:

    * make sure that your bedroom is a place where you are feeling relaxed. did you change anything in it? change a routine in it?

    * milk, cold or warm before bed (quantity depends on your bladder...it sucks to be dragged out of a sleep for a pee break!)

    * I have taken "Sleepeeze," an OTC (non-addicting) nightly...works like a dream

    * if you wake up and your mind is going going going and you can't stop it, California Poppy (herb) is fabulous. My honey just bought us both a bottle of an herbal pill called "Deep Sleep" which has the Cali Poppy, valerian, and a few other goodies. We're both finding it's working better than anything either of us has used...especially me, with the mind thing (that's what keeps me up half the time, too much thinking). Health food store! There's also a natural remedy called 5HTP which is supposed to work like Tryptophan (the ingredient in milk that makes you sleepy)

    * the cheese/wine/alcohol is fine if you aren't prone to headaches (I am). Alcohol in general disrupts your REM sleep so you may not feel quite as rested...I think it depends on quantities again.

    That's about all I can think of...hope something helps. Oh yeah, it's quite common during a season transition for sleep patterns to go wonky. Sometimes it helps to know that...it's not just you!

    fmz,

    i didn't notice the db ratings but one reason i can think of as to why it might be only 3bd gain is that it is a multi band antenna. from what i remember it covers 10-80 meters. thats allot to ask an antenna to cover. therefore the 3 traps you see on it. i'd do better with a beem, but i don't have a tower (yet) to put it on

    can't wait to fire this rig into it and see who i catch......

    Elsewhere, I think you're suffering from First Time Homebuyer's Shock. Hits everyone. You wake up in the middle of the night thinking, oh my God, what have I done??? It will pass. Unfortunately, your body is now in a cycle so you'll have to find some way to break it and sleep through a couple of nights so you can go back to your usual good sleeping habits.

    Yes, I'm certain that has something to do with it. Buying a house is a very odd experience. Sometimes I am very excited and other times I'm ready to toss my cookies.

    Your not alone, I've had the same problem for years, although this past year its been too much for me. I'll have to try some of the advice on this thread.

    And congratulations on the new home, that sounds like a trigger to lose sleep over, but one you can get over very quickly.
