I'd love to attend this, but it is a LONG way from home. And why is it that everyone who schedules an ex-JW conference seems to schedule it on the same weekend as Witnesses Now For Jesus (which was the original ex-JW conference and is still going after 26 years)? I'd definitely attend more ex-JW conferences than I do if most of them weren't held on the same weekend.

Hey this sounds pretty cool! Can we get more info as to what is happening on specific days? There's no way I could be there for all four days.

    No Hoagies, please.

    LMAO Steve!

    Toreador,

How many hrs a day is the program?

Below is the entire program. If you are not interested in so many debates and discussions you may pick and choose. The presentations are 30 minutes with a 15 minute rebuttal period by the audience pick the speakers arguments apart. Each is followed by a 15 minute break. Even the debates are moderated and the audience is allowed to refute or support either debater's points. While it is a Christian conference you can see a variety of issues will be covered, some of which will be challenging traditional Christian concepts.

I think I'll hit the Sunday afternoon session. Maybe after spending the morning in Leavenworth!

Do I have to wear my JC Penney suit? lol

Also, do we have to sign up for this?

Thanks J-2 for all the information. It really sounds like an interesting program, I hope Craig and I can make it for at least Fri-Sun. We'll start making plans now.

    Bisous:

How far is this from Portland? (I know, I AM a lazy bird....if I have to I will look it up)

    Total Distance: 307.7 Miles
Estimated Total Time: 5 hours, 16 minutes

Not a bad drive from here and it should be a pretty one too, I've never seen that part of Washington so I'm looking forward to it.

    LOL @ Doc:

Do I have to wear my JC Penney suit? lol

That alone would be worth the trip!

But seriously is there a dress code, I mean will I have to wear a dress?

Thanks for the info Steve. Sounds very interesting.

I went to this three years ago and there was no dress code. AlanF wore casual clothes. I wore whatever I had that fit me.

This one looks to be a lot more entertaining and educational, although Venice and I disrupted it with our giggling, and had to step out for awhile. We were a bit overwhelmed (laughing-wise) by some of the speakers and their devotion to the Bible and the way they were still hanging on to some of the JW nonsense, in their own peculiar fashion.

Bruce Baker and his wife were here for a few days over Labor Day and he ran some of his information by us. Fascinating, and I want to hear more.

I am going to try and get over there too, and hope to ride with Joy and Steve, if they fly into Seattle and drive over there. Dave says "I will pass". He just isn't interested.

It should be a very pretty drive, with the Fall colors around Leavenworth, that week. I am pretty sure that is the prime time for the Fall colors.

    Steve,

What is the purpose of this meeting and is it slanted as a pro Christian event? Looking at it's list of participants, a couple who I personally know, I don't see exactly what the overall purpose is. What are they trying to accomplish?

Will they have, cocktails, concession stands, long lines at the women's bathrooms, ID badges, security type bouncers for the more vocal type audience members?

15 minutes for audience to pick the speakers argument apart? Now that sounds like fun, but only 15 minutes? I spend that amount of time just rolling my eyes in preparation.

    LOL @ Dave:

Will they have, cocktails, concession stands, long lines at the women's bathrooms, ID badges, security type bouncers for the more vocal type audience members?

Now really how is the line to the women's bathroom going to impact you! Bwhahaha......I'm seriously getting worried about you Dave! *hint* do what I do, use the men's restroom, no line there!

As for the ID badges, I'll put Dave on mine and you can put Kate on yours then the bathroom thingy shouldn't be a problem eh? bwhahahhaaaa ROTFLMAO!
