    Annanias,

    I hear ya.

Somewhat dishonestly, I snuck that little quote from the Book of Mormon into this thread. . . 2 Nephi 27:23. Of course there are any number of Bible verses saying the same basic thing: God has not changed.

The same God that watched the holocaust moved a householder to hand Sister Pioneer a five dollar bill when her gas gauge touched "E".

Actually, it's almost defamation to say that God exists. If he does, he is heartless, calloused, impersonal, disinterested, arrogant, noncommunicative, aloof, ignorant, biased, cruel, powerless, insane . . . . . . . . .

    tms

To set the record straight, this was not a post to show how God doesn't exist (although I've recently come to the conclusion that the Bible isn't God's word). It was just a way to show how the WTS tells you to leave problems in Jehovah's hands, and then show reality.

Sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn't meant to be offensive.

Nos, I like the way you think. But you forgot about Shelley B. and her JW husband. Seems Shelley went to the elders about her husbands perverted sexual desires. He wanted oral sex (giving and getting). They had 3 kids and the hubby just wanted to experience more with his wife whom he loved. The elders counciled the family and suggested that Shelley relate any other signs of perversion. It seems Jah has a penchant for controlling his followers sex lives. Shelley prayed that Jah would help her husband. Shelley began to turn off at her husbands touch...who knew what he'd want to do to her. After 1 year of this treatment Hubby had sex with a friend from high school. He was df'd. Shelley is raising their kids alone. Hubby is happily remarried to his friend . Very happily remarried.

But there are some happy stories.

Young Lee was in his early 20's and started developing a social concience, and a healthy skeptic attitude. He was skeptical about the religions of the world and did alot of research. He was convinced that the world's religions were overly legalistic, except for his religion. He was about to become baptized as a JW. One hot and humid July day, he heard about silentlambs.org. Confused on why people would make up such lies about god's organization and what the root of the lies were, he asked his elders. His elders made up a story about Bill Bowen being a womanizer from Saint Paul. He found out that Bill Bowen was from Kentucky, a far cry from Saint Paul's hot summers and cold winters.

Lee then decided not to get baptized. Today, he can talk to other JW's about the corruption in their church without getting DF'ed. He's also about to embark on making a new site that features interveiws from those that were lied to by Watchtower officials.

    This story is true.
