who says what is good and what is bad the majority, the chosen leader, or blind chance (evolution)
Hey, it's a good quesiton, maybe the best question. Many of the great philosophers have grappled with that (and not gotten anywhere really).

Meggidon who says what is good and what is bad the majority, the chosen leader, or blind chance (evolution) Hey, it's a good quesiton, maybe the best question. Many of the great philosophers have grappled with that (and not gotten anywhere really wow finally I asked a smart question I knew this fishing expedition was getting somewhere that's why I'm not going back to being an atheist who says any man is better than me at deciding things remember most world rulers through time have had less brains than me yet we still give them authority and make them into suedo-gods moral authorites why? |
I think maybe your understanding of evolution, or more specifically natural selection i.e. 'survival of the fittest' is lacking. It often takes generations to even manifest itself.
I am with Stinky on this one (btw nice icon stinky!).
I do not think you have an understanding of athiests, or morality. For instance, who do you think is more moral? One who "does right" because they think their God will destroy them if they do not? (What if their god wants them to kill?) Or a person who does the right thing...because they have thought about it and came to the conclusion on their own that it is the right couse of action not fearing a God will destroy them? What is morality? Why do you feel it is tied to religion?
I don't have a religion unless I start one
but I do believe there is a good god a true god
so I am saying morality is not tied to religion
there is a need for a god or a higher source than man {aka karma buddist don't have a god in the strictist sence}
without god or a higher source in your mind you have chaos. Look at this thread this is what you get with out god zero no real reason for existance
So Meggidon... if God is the reason for our existence, then why does God exist?
So Meggidon... if God is the reason for our existence, then why does God exist?
Answer this first why do you exist why does anything exist? Maybe he did not have one and created us for purpose? let us just go with a loop theory for now infinite intellegence sprang from infinite lack of it and we just happen be in the middle of the equation balancing out ( I stole that from the matrix ) the imovable object meeting the irristable force face it I in lack of a better answer this is the crap I have to feed you take it for what it is? Maybe when you answer your maybe I'll have mine thank You remember if there is no god you are god just with out the cool stuff

I was trying to be nice to Meggidon, because it was kind of apparent that he is a little challenged but he seems to putting up the gloves first, SO!!!!!!!!!..... lol...... What is your religious affiliation Meg? What are your insinuations regarding atheists? I am not one, but I am curious to read what you are suggesting. Thanks, B. |
I misssed this one add a cuss word or two I catch things better that way
Back ground I have been around the org all but two years of my life
during that time some how I adopted my father agostic view and in my early teens became an atheist uptil age 18 or
so when I damn near put a gun to my head because I saw no reason for existance it was pur purposeless logical no god no purpose
age tweenty i was baptized throwing the equasion of acepting god for purpose but truth has caught up to me jesus is a greek name
not hebrew now throwing me into an unknown i can not accept the jw faith but I must believe in a god to keep going so here I am
I have a mental illness if it isn't apparent early stage of scizophenia it will only get worse causing me pain as well as every one around me
(Life boat senario)
so why am I talking to you athiest simple no god equals suicide. if there is no higher moral authority than man there is nothing to stop him leading only two possible outcomes example one (matrix) technology replaces us or two(borg) technology controling us.
the borg theory is in play as we speak (ever argued with someone behind a computer (but, the computer says this))
both are sucidal at best for man on whole so why go on?
why stop the dictador?
why fight against it?
it's only evolution we gonna go extinct anyway why not now?
why didn't I finnish the job what stopped me from suicide? (I lived through worse do not pretend to think I won't get help again!!! )
what will stop man from this equasion?
now you know my purpose is to find god again or should I give up because of the truth?
and this from a kid who hated math
Sorry to hear about your illness.
I feel that life is worth living for its own sake, whether or not there is a God. I hope that you can someday feel the same.
this is base on real history folks (hitler only no god in this case.)
I seem to recall the German people believed that God was on their side. As a matter of fact I have been told and seen pictures of the Nazi German Army belt buckle and it said "God is with us" or something along those lines. So maybe Hitler was an atheist but he used religion, Christianity to his advantage. Enough said and I could say more but I don't think I would get through to you on this subject.
Will
You know Saddam is a Christian don't you?
There once was a man who said "when you don't kill your self you lose the right to talk about life."
