Just trying to fish out if there are any boxing fans here.
I think, every month this year I've plucked down the $55 for Pay Per View including last night for De La Hoya.

well, I am not a fan but, I know that I will have a bill to pay this month for that damn fight.........
De La Hoya had his 5 dollar a$$ spanked and the boys here were not tooo happy at all...I really thought he was doing well in the first 3 rounds, then the 4 wheels feel off...
He was paid 10 million for that fight and was the under dog....

Morty, I thought he DLH would get his ass kicked by the 2nd round. So I thought he did pretty good. OR better than expected.

I thought it was a good fight. He did'nt really start getting his ass handed to him 'til round 7 or 8.

I'm not a fan of watching other people box, but I do enjoy getting into fisticuffs with other boxers. It's a very relaxing sport and if you're a masochist, you'd be in heaven.

A friend of mine bought the fight...I couldn't get over to see it. I thought Oscar would be in for it...trying to fight a hungrier guy.
Love the sport. Got involved in it at the ripe old age of 48...right before I got outa the borg. Wife was choosing the Watchtower over being with me and my blood pressure was going up up up. Foreman who is older than me, was my hero at the time so I joined a local boxing club...oldest fart in there and started doing the workouts...talk about aeorbic workout...they could kill ya! Have always follwed the sport, grew up in Eddie Machen's town...a heavyweight contender during Sonny Liston's reign. My local club stages fights every so often. Last time, I video-taped and edited together a pretty good show and got it broadcast...plan on doing more.
If they'd put boxing back into schools the gang probs would not be so great.

I always loved boxing.
When I was a dub, and Tyson fought Holyfield, the whole cong got chastised about boxing.
I hate it that the WT says boxing is violent, but football is not.
It's a matter of understanding the game.
One fo the best boxers, Cory Spinks, is one of the lightest hitters around.
His strategy is hit and don't be hit.
He's mastered the art of ducking and slipping.

Not for me. Boxing is a brutal and barbaric sport, and I spit on it. Any "sport" whose main objective is to beat the opponent into unconsciousness is barbaric.
As a youngster in Los Angeles, I kinda followed a local: Jerry Quarry. He never really made it into the big time, but he tried like hell. And in doing so, he got his brains bashed around his skull too many times. Fast forward decades later. Jerry's son crusaded against boxing. He used his dad in a wheelchair as a prop. Jerry Quarry had his brains beaten out. He had the mind of an 8 year old child.
As I said, boxing is barbaric. The smoothest boxer who ever lived got Parkinson's disease at a very young age. I cry when I see this great man with his shaking hands and faltering voice appear at events. He wasn't just ANY old boxer. He was the GREATEST.
Screw boxing. We should be more advanced as humans and get that sort of "sport" behind us.
Volleyball. Now THAT is a GREAT sport.
