Well, when Americans are stereotyped as brash, arrogant, irreverent, immoral, swaggering, isolationist gun nuts with incurable self-confident chauvanism that love porn, the open road, fast food, and big gas guzzling cars... it, um, really offends me... yeah... I guess on behalf of other people I know, it offends me... um... I guess if I didn't thump them myself, I'd be offended for them... um... wait... huh??? I'm going to go shoot something... hm...

Yes, it's wrong, but it makes for great comedy material! Most stereotypes have some element of truth in it, but it unfair to take it seriously and apply it to everyone.

Stereotyping individuals based on their background is usually a bad move.But sometimes there are traights found in large groups of people of a certain background that are common to a large number of them.
