I know of certain parts of the Pacific Northwest (US) where the "ritual comparison" consists of how big a man's woodpile is.

    Typical conversation:
"I cut myself three cords of Tamerack. All stacked right back here."

"You only got three cords? I drove the pickup to the state forest and cut me 5 cords! See my stack?"

"Five? You've only got FIVE? You'll never make it through the winter..."

"Honey, bring us another six-pack of cold ones, will ya?"

I know of certain parts of the USA where the "ritual comparison" consists of how big a man's.............is. Just add any word you want, pretty much the same thing.

Thanks, Ginny, for your shameless act of hussiness. Well worth the read.
