  A brief coda that might be of interest to yinz - the czarina was surprised at the way I handled it - firmly but politely. I'm not even that nice to customers at the bucks.

  She asked me, "I handed it to you because I thought you would be funny and mean to them about it."

  But I couldn't have been. It would have been like being mean to myself six years ago.

  She then said, "I'm sorry. If I'd known, I would have let them have it, after what they did to my husband."

  She knows what I went through. Not many do. It was bad. Really bad. No wonder I am so messed up still about it. I mean, I was frightened of them - frightened! Me! I've been hit. I've hit back. I don't know what I was frightened of or why.

  But it was fear - and I conquered it. And YOU CAN TOO! All you lurkers, when the worst is over, you will have won against them! Don't let the fear overwhelm you!

  Thank you all for your congratulations. I wonder if they will be back. I'll be ready to break their beliefs across my knee if they do.

  Good going, Czar! When you really think about it, it's somewhat scary how you could have still had that momentary lapse where you thought "Should I have talked like that to an *elder*?", when they are nothing more than a publishing corporation, made up of just guys and girls like you and I? I wonder if former subscribers are scared of Reader's Digest customer service attendants hunting them down.. hehehe.

  I also find it particularly disturbing that they believe that former members should go along with their silly rituals: sending an elder over to talk to you instead of talking to you themselves. They are so arrogant that they are shocked when they have no power whatsoever over former members, and that their nonsensical rituals of disfellowshipping, shunning, etc. should be affirmed by the former members' behavior in relation to that. Bleck.

  I'm proud of you for keeping your cool. That showed 'em that we all don't go insane after leaving. Seems that there are enough "insane" ones inside.......and they want to "teach" us?

  Geesh.......hasn't been a knock on my door or a phone call for quite some time now. I wonder if someone has seen my picture on JWD? Which reminds me. I need to get my new avitar going.
