is there anything like this happening on the east coast?

i would so like to attend something like this but many factors would prevent me from doing so. many topics are of interest to me.

    thanks, nowisee

    Check this out in CT.

Several of us Ex JWs are planning a symposium in Waterbury CT on Saturday, Oct 23. 10AM to 5PM at the Time Expo Museum, located in Waterbury at the Brass Mill Commons Mall. Lunch will be served. As you will note, this is more than simply a 'get together". In additional to an opportunity to associate, the main focus will be to encourage one another to move forward in our Christian walk. Here is a copy of the ad we are placing.

Former Jehovah?s Witnesses to hold symposium

A symposium has been planned for former and inactive members of the religious group Jehovah?s Witnesses, for the purpose of sharing common experiences. Several panel members will provide background into their lives as members of this religious group and will share practical, scriptural advice that will help in ones ongoing walk with God. ?Learning to Love Again? A Message for Former Jehovah?s Witnesses, will be held on Saturday October 23, from 10 A.M. to 4.00 P.M at the Time Expo Museum at the Brass Mall Commons in Waterbury. The event is also open to any of the general public who have had prolonged contact with the Jehovah?s Witnesses but who may not have been a formal member of the group. Any who may be interested in attending may call 1-800 603-5149 for a short recorded message.

And again I'll ask the question - why is it that everyone who plans an ex-JW conference of any sort always seem to target the weekend of Witnesses Now For Jesus - which was the original ex-JW convention? blondie, Waterbury CT is about 90 minutes from my house, and I'd be there for sure if you were having it on a different weekend. Is there something special about that weekend that makes it attractive to us apostates? Is it your intent to compete with WNFJ? I just don't get it, there are 52 weekends in the year, people, why that one?

nowisee, Witnesses Now For Jesus is meeting for the 26th consecutive year on October 22-24 in New Ringgold, PA. Details and full program can be found at http://pfo.org/2004wnfj.htm . To any from this board who go, look me up; I plan to be there. If you don't know how to find me, just start asking people who "NeonMadman" is, it won't take long.

I don't know, Neon. Linkup is having their conference that weekend too. Can't make any of them. I went to 3 conferences this year, 2 re abuse, one re ex-JW. And I thought leaving the WTS would mean no more conventions.

I am going......................can't say I will be able to sit through the whole thing.

Having been to the one 3 years ago, I recognize some of the speakers and the same talks they gave then, so I am sure I will skip those parts.

Looking forward to hearing Jim Whitney, Jim Penton, Steve Imhof, Bruce Baker and Barb Anderson. Not sure we can stay for Alan's part, Sunday afternoon. Don Smith is a really nice man, and I look forward to seeing him again too.

I am very interested in some of those topics to be discussed, but sadly, it would not be practical for me to make any sort of conference like that (not to mention geographical constraints). Are notes or written summaries of the discussions ever available? I would be interested.

My apologies, but this is not sponsored by BRCI, but my Richard Rawe.
