I had to have my 7 year old Persian Puddy. Kashmir, put down on Sunday.
Poor thing was crying all the time and would hardly move, so I took him to the emergency vet. He had a huge tumour blocking his intestines. He was so weak the vet said he wouldn't survive surgery, and that it was kindest just to put him down. His circulation had deteriorated so much that it took 2 lots of the euthanasia treatment to let him finally rest. Poor puss!!

Bull, I am soooo sorry about your kitty! I have two and last week one of them was acting very strange..........she was sleeping all the time and wouldn't eat..........I thought for sure that something was wrong with her..........I was having a major meltdown, crying, etc..........but, so far, she's okay....seems to have perked up this week...........my heart goes out to you.........we love them so much and it hurts to lose them!

I am so sorry to hear that. I understand the pain that comes with that decision. We just lost my little schnauzer Henry about a month ago. I am still having a hard time with it. But I take rest in the fact that these little ones RELY on us to take care of them and their best interests. Dying in pain in not something I think they would want. I'm glad to have given my baby that dignity. You made a good decision. Give yourself time...the pain lessens eventually.

Hey Bull, I just wanted to add my condolences.. We lost one of our cats last year and I know just how painful it can be..Not so much yo me but my wife was really upset and felt as if a family member had passed away.
BTW. We got another one ..Is that an answer for you?
I can relate. We have had to do that to two cats, over the years. The last one was 17 years old, and just cried all the time. So did I.
I'm sorry bull. I know it's hard, but you made the right call. We had to put our 12 year old basset hound down in May, so I really do feel for you.

Sometimes I wonder about animals and what they can feel and understand. My brother-in-law's dog died a few days ago and a dog who lived outside close to where this dog was, howled for about an hour right after he died. He seemed to know that his friend had died. Strange.

My girlfriend had to put down her cat both her and I loved so much a month ago. It was hard on the girlfriend because she had the cat since she was 6 years old (she's 23 now) and it was hard on me because that cat reminded me of a cat I had when I was 16.
