To me, I always pictured him as looking like the white bearded guy singing at the back of the current songbook (the second one from the left in the front row; next to the the red bearded guy with the really wide open mouth). When I was really little I had a dream involving god and god looked just like him. I guess the idea of that image just stuck in my head after that as a result.
