Nothing special already when I was in the JW world

and nothing more specific now ... actually if I think about it it depends on who's around ...

When I was a teen, we "vacation pioneered". No matter what we did, we ALWAYS made sure we got up for service in the mornings. When we had Sunday afternoon meetings, we went out every Sat. and Sun. No exceptions!! Now, to sleep in late or do something the night before without a time frame is wonderful.

I have a really exciting life. My weekends are filled with activity such as eating, cooking, housework, watching TV, and being on the computer. I look forward to going to work each Monday.

Walter---you need to get out of Ontario, maybe.

I'm (almost) embarrased to say that I get up around 8 or 9 am, take a nap sometime during the day - often 2-3 hours, then I turn into a pumkin about 8pm. Sometimes, for a good movie, I'll stay up until 9.

Heck, this is my weekday schedule, too!

Since we just remodeled our condo, my days usually include unboxing "stuff" of mine that has been packed away for decades and needs to be dealt with - throw away, goodwill, eBay, keep. I have 5 more doors to prep and paint, and some trim in the entry hall to paint. Hard to find time for this between my online time on JWD.

    Yawn.

PS There actually was a time in my life I could stay up until 1 or 2 or 3am and make it to work and even FUNCTION the next day. Fri and Sat nights were more reigned in because I usually was sailboat racing on Sat and Sun and didn't want to function with a hangover. I was at a level where I took my sport seriously, as did the rest of our crew. But once across the finish line, especially on Sunday, all bets, and all cork, caps, and screw lids were off.

I was much younger then....Better looking, too!

We are a boring, aging couple. We usually make a nice dinner, drink some wine, watch TV (usually separate TV's), eat ice cream and go to bed about 10 and watch another hour, or until one of us can't stay awake. Sometimes we rent a video if we can agree on one.

I told you we are boring.

Occasionally we will meet up with friends or family and go to dinner, or have someone over, but not a lot. We are in a rut.

And then there are the very exciting calls from the retirement home, where my parents are, saying one of them has been taken to the ER, so I have to spend the evening there. Or like this past Friday, when they called me to tell me my mother had a severe allergic reaction to shrimp (she has never had that before), so I had to run over there and hold her hand, and reassure her until the Benadryl took affect. That was the worst thing I've ever seen. She is fine now, but no more shellfish.

Mulan, some weekends are better than others, I guess.

Pretty laid back. I might kick back and watch a movie, or maybe play some board games (Charades, Cranium, etc) with friends. Today I spent the afternoon strumming my guitar in the backyard. Sometimes I'll head into the office and put in a couple hours so I can leave early during the week.

I guess it depends on the weekend. We were camping this weekend.

However, about two weeks ago me and fiancee got up at 8 and went out to breakfast on a Sunday morning. We drove past a church (not a JW KH) and I saw people going and I felt really good not having to go. A relaxing breakfast in a nice place is SO MUCH better than going to a meeting.
