For any lurkers out there who may be wringing their hands trying to determine whether JWs are a full-on cult, or merely a high-control group, I ask:
Does it matter?
Whatever the category, it's unhealthy and it's destructive. It hurts those who are in it, and those who know them.

When people ask, I tell them I grew up in a cult. JWs are a cult. They worship their lord and master the "Society."
Since they are sensitive about being a cult and have to defend their cult status, it seems it shows they are a cult.

i knew it wasn't out of my mind.
Now there is a key phrase for getting out of cultish thinking. It wasn't out of YOUR mind, it came from some yahoo or conglomerate of yahoos that came up with this thing called a belief system, you for whatever reason just happend to buy it.

Black Sheep
I lump them in with vegans, animal rights activists, AIDS activists, global warmers and Branch Davidians. High Control nutters relying on very dubious Junk Science to back up their flimsy ideologies.
Sorry if I offended anyone with that

Black sheep, that was about the most mindless comment I've seen posted in this forum.
