I just came across this link advertising an award dinner by the Canadian Bar Association.
http://www.cba.org/CBA/News/2004_Releases/2004-08-17_probono.asp
It announces Shane Brady of Georgetown (Bethelite) as the winner of the probone award for 2004. I'll let the announcement speak for itself.
What burns me is that the Brady is on a vow of poverty, and gets his marching orders from Bethel. He himself is not performing any great service. Besides the fact that the Society has likely written to the Hughes' congregation and circuit in Calgary asking for them to contribute towards the legal costs. Pro bono my ass!!
I loved the line about his switching "Careers" from that of a baker. Nice spin on the fact he was a grunt in the kitchen/dining room at Bethel.
Anyone want to write a letter?
