Sunday's WT study at the local KH

  My JW friend called me this morning to complain about the WT study yesterday. It was all about apostates. Evidently some in that cong. made comments that weren't backed up in the material, and the conductor let the comments stand. For instance: (guess who they meant?)

  "There have been elders, pioneers, former Bethelites and others who fell out of the truth. They haven't gone to other religions, and may not be disfellowshipped, but that doesn't mean they aren't apostates. We shouldn't have anything to do with them."

  "Good comment Sister Stupid"

  She is so upset and wanted me to talk to my mother about it so she can talk to the elders. I will and she will too. I'm sure she is also upset and wants to set the record straight.

  What a classic example of how the WT works....how they validate each others pre-conceived BS and rely on any dissenter to talk to an elder in private so as not to rock the boat publicly. Of course, the elder will probably have a softer stance on the issue in private so as to not have to deal with the matter to any appreciable degree.

  Ok, that makes sense now that I know you are not DF'd. Very stupid comment at the study but I can't say I'm surprised the conductor didn't correct the person. Why would they defend someone who is inactive? Pathetic.
