Great answer to a stupid question - what would you say if you're wrong, if god does exist and you go to meet him when you die?

Excellent answer. There are so many disgusting diseases on this planet from river blindness to leprosy, how can anyone be in charge? I do love the way Stephen engages with the question and says he wouldn't want to know a god who professes to be loving and yet creates such misery. Adam and Eve and fans being switched off and slowly winding down a la JW teaching just don't cut it.

Yes - I think theists think the only option is "ah ha - you'd have to grovel and accept that god is REAL! (atheist scum)" when "so you're god eh? I think you're a dick" is a perfectly reasonable answer.

It highlights the fundamental problem that theists cannot solve: how can it that a super loving god be less moral and loving than we can.

God has no moral compass it seems. Maybe he needs religion. He could do worse than learn from us. Bow down unto us you sick monster!

Some good points by Stephen Fry - I love the reactions and expressions from the interviewer

My question to God would be: why, throughout history, have you let humans carry out the most atrocious, violent, bloodthirsty acts in your name? Don't you realise how bad it makes you look?

I think he better be careful where he says that. There are blasphemy laws where you least expect them. Like Canada.

Other than that, I agree with him completely.

Just because there are laws still on the statute doesn't mean that anyone would ever be prosecuted because of them. The last case was something like 1930.

How can you have a law where "guilt" depends on the feelings of a 3rd party. Crazy laws don't apply.

I believe the JW justification for suffering is actually worse than the mainstream Xian "reason."

Mainstream Xianity: God has an ultimate plan that we as humans cannot hope to comprehend during this life.

JW SECT: God allows suffering when he could have prevented it. Why? To prove to everyone that he is the best God for the job.

What also seems noteworthy from this clip is that Mr Fry seems annoyed at someone he doesn't believe in
