Stinker.....Brillcream (brylcream as LT has it) was in a toothpaste type tube and was basically white grease. People who wore brillcrean had that 'straight hair look' cuz the grease was too thick. It smelled a bit like grease too.
LT, you may be right about the hair falling out thing. My dad had a bald spot on the top of his head and I still have mine ( hair that is ). Thank god for suave products from K-Mart eh?

My dad used to put brylcreem in his hair! It used to stain the pillows and the back of the couch, drove my mum mental. I liked the smell tho - and it was good for him to sweep his hair back in a 'teddy boy ' type of way.
