Well cjw, congratulations are in order to you and all the long suffering BoSox fans. The curse has been broken. The Red Sox elimiNATION of the Yankees has been accomplished.
That has got to be one of the most exciting baseball series I've ever watched ( except when the Jays won the World Series, but that is a biased Canadian opinion). 2 teams so evenly matched, I think the World Series may be a bit of a let down, after the tension, than elation of this series.
Like the announcer on Fox said, everyone in New England will remember where they were that night, when history was made.
I'll tell you though I got very nervous when they pulled Lowe. I didn't see the need for that at all. He may not have been strong in the stirkeout dept. but Yankee hitters were getting didly in hits. The Martinez comes in and gives up 3 hits and 2 runs. What was Francona thinking, especially with the World Series looming?
It worked out OK in the end, but I was shaking my head there for a while.
On the Yankees side, I have to say I was impressed with the play of Derek Jeter. He is a very good all around player, especially defensively. He covers a whole lot of ground out there, and gives me the impression he could cover most of left field by himself. He's also a danger on plays to first, because he's deceptively fast. Of course at $18,600,000. a year, he'd better be good.
Anbody have a prediction on the game tonight?
