If it makes you feel better, some women find baldness attractive. Seriously...to me there isn't much sexier than seeing a shiny shaved head on a masculine face. COMF shaved his head a couple years back and looks better than when he had hair. Same with SixofNine and Wild Turkey. Bald is sexy! Embrace your new change.

My father and paternal grandfather were seriously balding by the time they were my age.
Since my maternal grandfather had died around my age, I can't comment too much on him.

I gave up using hair products (other than the obligatory shampoo) in my early 20's, because of concern - some reduce the oxygen to the hair folicles. Like David, I "think" it wouldn't bother me, but there is something a little unsettling about the advance of age. One great advantage of being blonde is that grey is harder to see, though my reddish beard betrays me a little.

I think the greatest face-saver is that male-pattern baldness is caused by excessive testosterone!
I don't know how much truth is in that, but it sounds good, unless it also makes you aggressive.

I once said that if I started to bald I would just zip it all off. After seeing Pleasuredome's bald napper, I'm not so sure now, though

    Vanity vanity, all is vanity...

Billygoat, I agree that some guys look fine bald. But I have no idea what I will look like bald. I could shave my head to see, but that is kinda risky!

At least as it grew back you could see where there were missing patches

Nos: I won't have to switch avatars until I go completely bald. Right now I still have more hair than the avatar. :P

LT: LMFAO Nope..I'm not that kind of risk taker!

If you go to all of your meetings, your hair will grow back in the new system.....just around the corner.

    Hey dr.....

I recommend you go to a dermatoligist....They can examine your scalp and tell you what is exactly going on.

    How do I know this???

well....last April I had a surgery...and in July I started to loose a lot of hair........freaked me out....mine was caused by the surgery....and is growing back (yahoo)...but still they can tell you what is the cause and what you need to do (even if it is hereditary)....

    hope this helps!!!!

Did I mention we'd be checking for hair loss at the Xmas Fest? Any positive signs and we'll just buzz it all off right there. Of course that's only for those who insist on bringing a bottle of the blue with them. The rest are exempt with a bottle of single malt......

    Avatar shots are extra...

Same thing happened to me after my only C-section. The doctors said it was the anaesthesia that does it. (I had a general)

Sorry, Doc. Happens to many guys your age. I agree about shaving some day. You still have lots of hair now, so just enjoy it while you can.

My father has been pretty bald since his 40's, but my brother has a lot more hair than he does.

I've heard the gene comes through mothers, but I've known men with very little hair, whose mother's family have full heads of hair, so who knows?
