my son has ADD and he took meds when he was small. He's taking focus factor now, and it really helps him. Now there are so many alternative things. I did a search a while back on this b/c I have ADD and have to take strattera. I found that there are so many amazing things over the counter esp made for children. generally speaking they are formulations of vitamins ,minerals and amino acids. one thing for sure is diet. For me eliminating sugar and grains has made a huge difference. I would not advise u about your child, but this has been my experience. I also agree with BT, since he is taking a lot of allergy meds, he may be reacting to them. lots of things to consider.Best wishes to u and yours.
I'm worried about our 8-year-old -- anybody got any ideas?

Thanks, y'all! Jackson had three great days when he was rested, school was great, no problems -- after we'd been to the doctor and he was given Prednisone to help him through the latest asthma attack. Yesterday and today I've watched him starting to go downhill again, and tonight he needed two breathing treatments, two hours apart, before he could go to sleep.
The new medication he has seems to help him a bit in the frustration department, so I think the side effects are fewer. It will also be interesting to see how he does this week -- Jennie, who is in 5th grade, is going to Oklahoma with her 5th grade class for a week-long hiking/camping trip. It's a Plano school tradition and a great opportunity for her to spread her wings a little. Besides, we know her cabin "Mom" really well, and all the girls she'll be with. So Jackson will have what he calls his "own private parents" for five days -- I'll be interested to see if his affect changes at all.
Thanks again for all of your responses!
