Back in the 70's....Elton was my idol. I bought a piano and took music lessons because of his inspirations. I knew every word to his songs back then. Seems like when singers leave and come back....it's never the same....although I still like him....but he's low on my list now. Maybe if I listened to more of what he has done recently...I'd feel different. As a person....I think he's a contancorous little spoiled acting dickweed with a smart mouth.

I'd have to agree with you about him now Gumby. But I still love his music.
Sacrifice
It's a human sign
When things go wrong
When the scent of her lingers
And temptation's strong
Into the boundary
Of each married man
Sweet deceit comes calling
And negativity lands
Cold cold heart
Hard done by you
Some things look better baby
Just passing through
And it's no sacrifice
Just a simple word
It's two hearts living
In two separate worlds
But it's no sacrifice
No sacrifice
It's no sacrifice at all
Mutual misunderstanding
After the fact
Sensitivity builds a prison
In the final act
We lose direction
No stone unturned
No tears to damn you
When jealousy burnsMona Lisas and Mad Hatters
And now I know
Spanish Harlem are not just pretty words to say
I thought I knew
But now I know that rose trees never grow in New York City
Until you've seen this trash can dream come true
You stand at the edge while people run you through
And I thank the Lord there's people out there like you
I thank the Lord there's people out there like you
While Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters
Sons of bankers, sons of lawyers
Turn around and say good morning to the night
For unless they see the sky
But they can't and that is why
They know not if it's dark outside or light
This Broadway's got
It's got a lot of songs to sing
If I knew the tunes I might join in
I'll go my way alone
Grow my own, my own seeds shall be sown in New York City
Subway's no way for a good man to go down
Rich man can ride and the hobo he can drown
And I thank the Lord for the people I have found
I thank the Lord for the people I have found
I used to think that New York City
Fell from grace with God
And innocence abroad
Waged a war for the underdog
When the snow falls
And Central Park looks like a Christmas card
I just looked beyond the bagman
And the madness that makes this city hard
I heard a basketball
Somewhere out beyond a chain link fence
Inner city prisoners
Argue for the right of self-defense
But there's a fast break
And every work of art wakes something in the soul
Just focus on the brush strokes
And the bouquets that the dancers hold
Spanish Harlem still sounds good to me
Yeah Mona Lisa's getting older
Standing in the shadow of Miss Liberty
While I walk along the west side
Down through Little Italy
Searching for the city that
That took away the kid in me -

Only when I see a little middle aged plump woman with a hair-net, blue rinse and buff colored rainmac.

That was kinda rough Big T...I know, but he can really be a cocky guy. He had a rough childhood as you might know, and perhaps he's a bit angry inside.
Lisa...you just reminded me how much I still like the guy. Sacrafice was a beautiful song and done superbly as usual by the Eltmeister.
*goes into his secret elton room and starts praying to the cocky bastard*
