I just got the news a little while ago. Kristi, the MS patient I've been taking care of went to the ER this morning with a perforated colon and peritonitis....her BP was waaaay down and the docs have her in surgery right now, but they've told her parents it doesn't look good for Kristi to make it thru this.
I was with her yesterday. She had started the morning throwing up and her Mom was there because Kristi was impacted and she was trying to remedy the situation. Later that morning Kristi took her temp and it was 102....and she had a lot of pain in her abdomen, but we just figured it was because of needing to "go".....Kristi was thinking about going to the ER yesterday, but she's so very tired of going to the hospital and having to stay for weeks at a time that she's very reluctant to go now and will always wait till things get desperate before she'll allow herself to be taken there.
When they took her to the ER this morning, it was discovered that she has a perforated colon and they're doing emergency surgery.
I can't tell yall how sad this makes me. She has so much to live for and means so much to so many people.
