I don't judge anyone else for wanting to drink, but it does absolutely nothing for me.
That being said, what I don't tolorate is drunk driving. If anyone causes injury to my family while driving drunk, they better watch out.

Nope I don't drink but when I read Big Tex's post with:
And the boat rocked up, and down and up, and down and up, and down and up, and down

I like to have a few drinks but I rarely get drunk. I can't remember the last time I was drunk.
Walter
I was getting drunk on a pretty regular basis this year, more frequently than ever before. A few weeks in the summer, I would get drunk every single night of the week from Monday through Sunday. But it was getting me nowhere and I was spending way too much money only to wake up with a pounding headache every morning. So about a month ago I decided to really cut back on the alcohol consumption. I've only drank alcohol one night out of the last three weeks which has really made me feel better and I've been able to spend my alcohol money on better things such as the new GTA game .
But something that I found out just recently and succesfully tried was a liquid vitamin B complex with a high amount of B12 taken directly after you drink a lot will aleviate a lot of the after-effects of a hang-over. The last time I drank heavily and took the B complex I woke up feeling like I hadn't drank any alcohol at all.
After downing way to many brewski's, (and getting my IQ down around my ankles) it usually gives me the courage to get down on my knees and drive that big white porcelin bus, in the batheoom while talking to RALPHH and EARLLL about their BUUICK......
I hate it when that happens.......
I haven't gotten drunk since i was 17(51y.o.). When I was younger that was the thing to do at parties on the weekend. I got totally wasted,, and totally sick. I guess that's why I like mj,,it gives me an alter conciousness,,time flys because I get absorbed in the moment and the next day no hang over. My dad was an alky and used to get real mean when drinking the hard stuff,, so I guess that turned me off from over indulgence,, I will on certain occaisions with friends drink to mild intoxication,, but getting drunk seems to be so pointless because of the sickness afterward and possible damage it can do to relationships that it does not have appeal unless I was really really hurting emotionally maybe then I would get totally wasted kinda like buying out time to deal with my emotions.
Smoke mj it is better for you

agreed!
I don't like alcohol too much and I hate throwing up. I've never gotten "blackout" drunk but I have been buzzed. I don't drink when I feel down, it seems to make me feel even more depressed.
Not anymore....
When I was young, but still a JW, we would push the limits on drinking. Even though my friends got plastered, I usually just got a good buzz.
Much later in life, after becoming inactive but before trying to leave the JWs, I started to let loose more and on different occasions, several times a year, on vacation, work trips, parties at home, I got good and smashed. Passing out and not remembering what I did the night before smashed. A year or so ago, I decided I was too old to be that stupid, so I have willed myself to drink less...a few beers or 2/3 drinks and when I feel the buzz, I back off. No more hangovers, no more wondering what I did the night before, no more regrets over stupid stuff said and done.
What's interesting is to be the only sober person in a room...depending on my mood, it can be high entertainment to watch them or highly irritating. When you see how stupid everyone gets, then you realize being drunk ain't so great after all.
I have only been drunk a few times, and always by accident. Usually I have to stop after two drinks, but sometimes those two hit me hard. 3 or 4 is not good. Not for me anyway.
If I am having a lot of stress, it seems I can drink and drink, and never feel much. For casual drinking, I need to watch it carefully.

I tend to drink less than most people and when I do drink I alternate it with water so the most I get is a little buzz....it is interesting to watch other people though...lol helps me remember WHY I don't like to drink much
