    As Gretchen said, "Yule"

I think that fits with some "christmas cards" which say "yuletide"

    some brought up using

"Festivas" not sure on that one

    "Blessmas.. using the word bless.

You could say your having Christmas with a K.. Krissmas. Merry Krissmas with a K.

or Merry Kiss-mas (enough of a change so that I don't have to say CHRIST-mas but gives me a warm feeling inside when I think about it.

    Or "Happy Merry-mas" to you.

I'll watch your thread Ohiocowboy because I'm not struck with using "Christ" either.

Now that I thunk up some .. for me I like Merry.

so have a Merry Kissmas, Ohiocowboy

Wow!!! Been away from the computer for a couple of days, and come back to find some really neat responses!!!

There are several interesting ideas; Season of Joy, Yule, Family day, Saturnalia, Winter party, X-Mass, Festivus, Weinacht, Merry Kissmass, End of year life celebration, among others.

It appears that the name for this Holiday does not have as much impact as the joy and love that is felt during this time of year. It seems that no matter what it is called, most everyone feels the same way, and shares in the warmth and the glow of this season.

As I have been thinking about this, I am starting to realize that this Holiday is not just a time to celebrate a birth, but rather more of a time to celebrate HUMANITY, and seeing that with a little effort, and showing compassion, love, generosity, among other good traits, that everyone can overlook differences in each other and realize that we all have a common goal as humans on this earth, and rather than for just a short time during a holiday, maybe all people can work towards sharing the same feelings all year long. May sound like a pipe-dream, but who knows...

Yipes! I re-read the last paragraph, and it kinda sounds like crying "Peace and Security"! (not what I intended, honest)

Methinks that this year I will be celebrating Humanity, and focusing on the good characteristics that make us Humans. Interesting that when I look up the word humanity, it defines it as "Kindness, Benevolence, Sympathy, Tenderness, Goodwill". A lot of the feelings that are brought out in us during this time of year, and definitely these are characteristics worth celebrating!

I wish everyone such a happy holiday filled with nothing but good memories, positive thoughts, and lots of yummy food and presents!!!.

Thanks for Y'alls ideas, lots to think about!

Special K-Merry Kissmas to you too!!!

    Happy Holidays to all!

    CJ

We're Star Trek fans, and decorate our Tree with all Star Trek ornaments.

We're not religious, and we just celebrate life and good friends and family.

Hey we even have one of those fish symbols that Christians use on their Car, only ours says Trek in the middle of it and it is the Enterprise shape. LOL Praise the goddess there is fantasy. LOL
