Standard Betty Crocker recipe always worked well for me. Rub the cavity and flesh with salt, stuff with a sage based dressing (have tried fancy ones with berries or nuts or sausage etc etc but the results are disproportional to the effort).

For the last 8 years I have either ordered my turkey dinners from local restaurants or I buy the prestuffed and de-boned turkeys from the grocery store. That way I can enjoy company without the stress of preperations.
