I've just received an email from a non-JW friend who is discussing some issues with a non-Internet'ed JW and would like to offer some quotes.
I'm afraid I've lost track of some stuff and haven't time to find them right now.
Can anyone help with any part of this? I'm crap at pulling up links from this site, and I know many of these sujects have been discussed here.

    1. WT Quotes that say Jesus isn't the great crowd's mediator
    2. Randy's citation of the 10/1 or 1/10 1993 WT that encourages witnesses to hate apostates
    3. Quotes where the WTS said you must be a member to be saved
    4. The threads on the 144,000 doctrine (I can think of at least a couple in the last year)
    5. Threads regardling doctrine changes, especially regarding the "generation change"
    6. A rebuttal to "Witnesses are the 1st on every disaster scene and help to rebuild non-witnesses' houses, etc. Anyway, any focus on humanitarian efforts are just like 'polishing the brass on the Titanic'".

I've already sent the link to "Quotes" site, and am in the middle of answering a number of other questions.
Any help would be gratefully received.
    Thanks in advance.

    Generation

?Or, since the master said, ?When ye shall see all these things?, and since, ?the sign of the son of man in heaven,? and the budding fig tree, and the gathering of ?the elect? are counted among the signs, it would not be inconsistent to reckon the ?generation? from 1878 to 1914 - 36 ½ years - about the average human life today.? - Studies in the Scriptures 4, p605
?Even if we presume that youngsters 15 years of age would be perceptive enough to realize the import of what happened in 1914, it would still make the youngest of ?this generation? nearly 70 years old today. So the great majority of the generation to which Jesus was referring has already passed away in death. The remaining ones are approaching old age. And remember, Jesus said that the end of this wicked world would come before the generation passed away in death. This of itself, tells us that the years left before the foretold end comes cannot be many.? - AW 10/8/68 p13-14
?If you assume that 10 is the age at which an event creates a lasting impression on a person's memory, then there are today more than 13 million Americans who have a recollection of World War I. And if the wicked system of this world survived until the turn of the century, which is highly improbable in view of world trends and the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, there will still be survivors of the World War I generation. However, the fact that their number is dwindling is one more indication that ?the conclusion of the system of things? is moving fast towards its end.? - WT 10/15/80 p31
?If Jesus used ?generation? in the sense and we apply it to 1914, then the babies of that generation are now 70 years old or older. And others alive in 1914 are in their 80's or 90's., a few having

reached a hundred. There are still many millions of that generation alive. Some of them ?will by no means pass away until all things occur.? - Luke 21:32.? - WT 5/15/84

?Therefore, in the final fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy today, ?this generation? apparently refers to the peoples of the earth who see the sign of Christ's presence but fail to mend their ways.? - WT 11/1/95 p19

You don't need to belong to an organization:

?The test of membership in the new creation will not be membership in any earthly organization.? The New Creation p 78

You do need to belong to an organization:

?It is solely in brotherly association with the New World Society that we can possibly survive when this old world passes away.? New Heavens and a New Earth p 363

You don't have to be a Witness:

"We would not refuse to treat one as a brother because he did not believe the Society is the Lord's channel... There should be full liberty of conscience." -- WT April 1, 1920, p. 100, 101

"Approved association with Jehovah's Witnesses requires accepting the entire range of the true teachings of the Bible, including those Scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah's Witnesses. What do such beliefs include? ?.. That there is a "faithful and discreet slave" upon earth today 'entrusted with all of Jesus' earthly interests,' which slave is associated with the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses... That 1914 marked the end of the Gentile Times and the establishment of the

    Jesus is not our mediator:

?Jesus Christ is not the mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the mediator between his heavenly father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spritual Isreal, which is limited to only 144,000 members.? - Worldwide Security, 1986, p10 (see also WT 79/04/01 p31, WT 79/11/15 p26, WT 89/8/15 p31)

    Hate Apostates--Norm Hovland

"The obligation to hate lawlessness also applies to all activity by apostates. Our attitude toward apostates should be that of David, who declared: "Do I not hate those who are intensely hating you, O Jehovah, and do I not feel a loathing for those revolting against you? With a complete hatred I do hate them. They have become to me real enemies." (Psalm 139:21, 22)" (The Watchtower, July 15, 1992, p. 12, §19)

jv chap. 15 p. 207 Development of the Organization Structure

When the Millennial Dawn volume entitled The New Creation (published in 1904)

Having to be part of the Org to be saved

w97 1/15 p. 22 What Does God Require of Us?

    21

We are not alone in making the changes needed to bring our lives into harmony with God?s standards. Jehovah has a people on this earth, and he expects us to serve him along with them. This brings us to the fourth requirement. We must serve Jehovah with his spirit-directed organization. [Italics was theirs]

    22

How, though, can God?s organized people be identified? According to the standards set out in the Scriptures, they have real love among themselves, they have deep respect for the Bible, they honor God?s name, they preach about his Kingdom, and they are no part of this wicked world. (Matthew 6:9; 24:14; John 13:34, 35; 17:16, 17) There is only one religious organization on this earth that has all these marks of true Christianity?Jehovah?s Witnesses! [Italics was theirs]

    24

Are we not in a similar situation? We have been pulled from the dangerous "waters" of this wicked world into the "lifeboat" of Jehovah?s earthly organization. Within it, we serve side by side as we head for the "shores" of a righteous new world. If the pressures of life should cause us to grow weary along the way, how thankful we are for the assistance and comfort of true Christian companions!?Proverbs 17:17.

One further observation I just thought of as hubby and I were "disgusting" this great thread:

If Jehovah was to pick his anointed from all the nations of the earth as Revelations says, how could that picking be finished or even close to it by 1935 when all the nations of the earth had NOT even heard of his name and the WTS says ,"there is more work to be done"? It is so obvious the GB does their own picking. Anyone else doesn't count.
