Could You Post Here Then Return To The KH?

    Hmmm.

When I was a dub I could have never gone onto an apostate website and went to a KH. I was a goodie goodie down to the bone.

It was about 2 years when I left that I delved into the forum... man, was I green. I couldn't believe that there were so many who felt like me. I still thought that I was doing something wrong, but could not prove nor disprove they;re teachings. Yet I knew deep down that they were utterly false.....

I could never return to the KH. Some have, but I think it's not that many. Lots disappear because they tire of the internet's ability to cause you to turn inwards from society. Message board addiction. They wake up and leave, without the obligatory "I'm Leaving, Boo Hoo" thread, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!

So when the day finally comes and I stop posting here, there will be no "Bye Bye" thread, sorrowful weeping, and running back to the Kingdumb hall. It will just mean that I've moved on.

Or maybe it is the truutthh...

Yes!.................. but I don't understand 'em!

I know of some who have (I won't name 'em - yet!) and I suspect they're still lurking.............. (Hi guys!!)............. but they succumbred to the Society's mantra "Where else have we to go?" and left off posting.

Well I post e-man and I am going to go to the KH tomorrow - though of course I am not really a fully-fledged witness anymore

    jgnat -

I think your post really nails it. A person who leaves must understand why they left. If they don't, they are fated to a confused life, which will probably lead to other similar abuse.

Of course, the question was whether a person could post here and return. Presumably, during the course of being an active member here, a person will open his or her eyes and learn. But I think all of us know a few active posters here who have not yet been willing to face down the full truth of matters regarding the organization. Such ones could easily go back - indeed, some are active, believing members of congregations.

I certainly believe that posting here drastically decreases the likelihood that a person will return. You can't make a horse drink, but you can lead it to water.

If they meant all the stuff they posted on this board and read all the other posts with an open mind, then I can't see how they could go back in mind and heart. If they make a full about-face, then they've been letting their fears about uncertainty or an unhealthy need for approval get the best of them.

Am I one to talk though? In my thirties but now and again, subjecting myself to the drivel at assemblies or the KH, just to lap up drips of approval from Daddy and Mommy?

Knowing reality changes you though, and its obvious even to the dubs at the KH since now you are notably "spiritually weaker".

For some it's like jgnat said, but they return to a different jerk. So, xjws become mormon, or join another christian cult, or take up zecharia sitchen's stuff. Maybe they become opra whinfreyites, haaa.

I would only go back if I could walk into the Kingdom Hall as brother Bufford Pusser

Brooklyn is masterful in their "if-you-doubt-us-you-are-a-bad-bad-boy/girl" indoctrination.

The word "apostate" has become so emotionally powerful in the minds of JW's that I think for some who leave, the feeling of having turned to the dark side overwhelms their ability to reason.
