    * he would slide feet first with the intent of spiking basemen with his spikes

    This is actually somewhat common

    * When he was diagnosed with tonsilitis the day of an exhibition game, he had his tonsils taken out by a quack doctor, and played later that day.

This is a HUGE plus in my book. How tough! - almost hockey player like.

But Preston you are right. Cobb was a prick.

Man this thread is so serious. It definately must be to do with sports. Come on boys, laugh a little on this one. Mario Lemieux. Pittsburgh me thinks. You guys will know. That's my 13 year old son's pick. I always liked Tony Tanti. Don't ask me why. The name just sounds good. I know you guys are thinking get this girl off our thread. Well I'm aloud to watch some sports too. Ha Ha. Not that I do, that much. I just like to harrass you.

I agree with Tyson, Rodman, OJ. All bad-boyz. As Dennis Miller said in one of his rants "OJ, you're a bad man!"

Here in Portland it was Rasheed Wallace. He had a bad anger management problem. He had anger and didn't manage it. Attacked refs, players, and people in the stands, and a ref in the parking lot. He was also one of the few who could go head to head with Shaq (he and Sabonis, who's moved home to Lithuania to support the Baskeball Team there when his contract was up - his knees were shot. Too bad, he was awesome).

I'm pleased Rasheed wasn't involved in the Detroit melee, except to pull people apart.

    Peace

In NHL who was the guy last year that smashed the other's head into the ice after he was down? Did some serious damage?

If you're going for coaches, don't forget Jon Gruden aka Chuckie. He always looks like he's about to blow a head-gasket.

Gruden led my Bucs to the Super Bowl...he's right up there with Switzer for me.

Badger, I can appreciate that, as I was rooting for the Bucs too. He is a very successful coach. He just looks (and acts?) like the evil Chuckie incarnate.... And that's not my nickname, either.

OMG, I sound like a sports fan here. Scary.

Is No. 2 Bob Gibson? He was unstoppable during that world series against the red sox (1968?) If memory serves me right he also hit two homers during that series as well. I heard that Bill White was his roomate during college and later on when White was playing, he came up to bat against Gibson and Gibson intentionally hit him! That was his way of telling him "we're not roomates anymore"

A couple of quotes for Preston about Bob Gibson:

He said (to a Dodger): "If you're digging in, make it six feet, cause I'm gonna bury you!"

She said (Dusty Baker about him): "The only two men I'm afraid of is My Daddy and Bob Gibson."

Other quotes from my top five:

1.: "I said call me Coach or Mr. Knight!"

    3. "I guess he has a glass jaw" (after hospitalizing a Boston Bruin)

    4. "It was an innocuous tackle...I didn't know his leg would break...again..."

    5. "Screw it...L.A. sucks"
