    how neat!

my man collects lead miniatures that he paints for his d&d games.. he has over 25k of them. he's been collecting since he was 14.

i never collected anything, because the ex controlled every dime in the house. and permission had to be acquired before i could buy anything.(even a candybar)

since my divorce, and living with here i've been encouraged to find something to be interested in so i 've been collecting rooster/chicken stuff to eventually decorate the kitchen with. if i were to collect anything seriously it'd be quilts. i adore quilts.

Hotwheels, Johnny Lightnings are some of the things I collect.

Though I have a very sincere desire to collect what I would deem the finest bicycle on earth, that being the 60's Schiwinn Orange, Apple, Lemon and Lime Crates, Also the Grey Ghost Crate from the same era.

As a child I always wanted that bike. they were the closest thing any 8 year old could get to driving a car. Our bikes in the 60's were a childs entrance into a world of speed, thrill and just being so cool.

a small stack of Playboy magazines from the 60''s,

'60s Playboys are the best. I have some from '67-'68, including my birth month. It was all about the jugs then - topless only and women still had tan lines, much sexier than the airbrushed coeds of today's Playboy. Love the old ads, too. The Shelby Mustang ad especially, back when it was new and not a classic.

I've had different collections through the years, mainly ashtray stands and art deco clocks from the '30s-'50s. I've been thinking about starting a new collection of the old Last Supper paintings I see at a lot of antique malls and estate sales. I think it would be cool to have a dozen of them hanging on one wall. I like Jesus.

An uncle of mine gave my brother and myself all his old MAD mags, the first five years worth. When my bro. went to college, mom cleaned out his room and tossed them. What a shame, because they were soooo funny!

Now besides dust, I collect books. History, literature, art and reference. And James Michener first editions. My poor husband. When we moved, I had 80 cartons full. Books that is, not dust.

My dad used to have a 'tit' mug. It was a regular mug with the shape of a woman's torso, and a pair of boobs attached to the mug with a wire. When you picked it up, the boobs jiggled up and down.

He gave it to me and I threw it out.

I recieved a gift from mexico; dead frogs nailed onto wood with carved 'corona' beer bottles, making them look like they were drunk. I threw that out too. Talk about tacky.

One of my nicer tacky souveniers is the lovely hula-dancer that you usually assosiate with Hawaii. A work assosiate went down on vacation and got me one. I had a ghetto-ride and had it attached on my dashboard until I got tired of my car and drove it to the junkyard.

I collect "Faerie" statues from Jenny Olivier from which I have quite a lot and the "Flower Fairies" from Mary Cicely Barker which are a bit smaller and you can put them on the soil of a "pot plant"

I have some antique blue porcelain plates and

snails - frogs - turtles - little blue porcelain houses - lots of paintings and on top of that: Portuguese pottery.

in fact much to much for my smal house.

One of my brothers used to say: "blindfolded each shot bingo"

I collect shot glasses from places we've been all over this country and the world. Friends buy them for me, on their trips. I must have two or three hundred. Too many to display, but I have a 3 level large shelf, in the dining room, displaying my favorites.

I also like unusual coffee mugs, and collected those until we ran out of cupboard space.

Now I like Santas too (ornaments) and figures, but also have limited space to put them at Christmas time.

And I love books. There is something so comforting about owning a good book. Is that silly?

Yes, Mulan, you're right . . .just having a good book around and knowing that inside that book is a story is very comforting.
