Elsewhere, they only set up parts of the magazine in advance. Secular magazines do the same. They have certain topics that they cover the same time every year. The editorial staff on magazines also leave space open for the last minute, moving up the ladder quickly topic. They also leave room to pull certain articles if something else becomes more newsworthy. I'm sure they pulled the report when they realized that the numbers wouldn't be ready to post in January 1. It wouldn't be too hard to switch a fill in article in Febuary for the pages that would have taken up the space in January 1.

I'm wondering if they have released the yearbooks yet. They can't switch info around in that publication. Anyone with Bethel connections to know if the Bethel workers have received their yearbook yet.

Still it is puzzling why they didn't get in the Jan 1st.

Most of the time there is nothing to these things - but who knows. I think there is most likely some change in the format - maybe to give a good spin on some negative numbers.

I have heard of some things that alledgedly happened in which no one was ever notified - like the time they sent out the 'blood cards' with a new twist - the allowance of using one's own blood in surgery - then they pulled them all back to HQ and re-issued ones with out that proviso -

    So who knows -

I again offer my theory: They realize that the stats are going to turn negative soon

and they want to phase them out discreetly while most Witnesses (easy to deceive)

    won't catch on.

They would have to be total idiots - after the '15 minute publisher/70 hour pioneer change'-

not to realize that their growth is in a long term trend downward. At some point, the entire

worldwide average will dip to zero. Before that happens, many countries will report losses.

If they do nothing, they will likely see contributions drop even more, in quiet reaction

    to published evidence of malaise.

Love, kindness, - even simple decency won't move these hard hearted Pharisees

to change - but money - or the threat of losing it - will.

    I like your theory!

    Here's hoping, eh?
